First of all thank you to all of the great advice I recieved from this board on how to make my first family trip so incredible. We are hooked and can't wait to go back again.

I got to witness a few SG's for you and sadly an SCM. However of the hundreds of CM's that I encountered over the course of 9 days to have only one poor experience is a great example of how good the majority of the CM's are.

I also had a rare random wallaby sighting. The family and I were heading back to MK after a rest to catch wishes when who do I see walking towards me from the ferry dock? You got it Big Wallaby himself. I was able to take a few minutes to personaly thank him for helping make this such a wonderful trip. Wallaby thanks again.......

Anyways here are a few of the SG examples I saw.

#1 Mom says to crying 7 year old who does not want to go on EE. " how can you ruin this trip for me?" "grow up be a man and ride this with me" "I am never taking you to a place like this again you have ruined this whole trip for me" (my heart was breaking for the poor kid)

#2 During parade at DHS we get a great spot enjoy chatting with other folks around us parade starts and this guy literally pushes my wife out of the way so he can move himself and his stroller in front of us. My wife asks nicely for him to move stating we have been here for the last 45mins but he can stand behind us and have his kids sit with our kids. He does this but during the parade he uses my wife as his tripod to take pictures. At one point pushing her nearly on top of my kids. I and another guest tell him to back off.

I have to get back to work so I will give you more later and tell the story of the SCM....

Glad to see you had a nice time at Disney! Good job on not being a sg yourself towards that other guest at the parade (for the most part). The one with the mom complaining to her child about ruining her trip is all to common here in the parks. I hear it almost every time I go when not working. Sometimes I will step in and if the kid is scared, try to talk him into it. haha Let him know that it's not scary, but really fun. sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Some parents like it, and some get mad that I butt in, but hey, I was just being nice.

Also, sorry to hear about the scm. Unfortunately, not all of us can be great. And we do have our bad days too on the job. Sounds like they didn't affect your vacation here to much. If I'm not having a good day, I still try to give every guest the quality service they deserve. You all pay good money to come here, so you deserve the best customer service from a friendly staff. :D:

Hope to see you and your family again. Although I doubt I personally saw you. haha

It was very nice to beat... meet you.

Yes, it was me with the SCM. I beat jerlove.

I feel like I should be so ashamed.

But in all seriousness... wait a second, working on being serious... there we go... it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and the kids. Come back again sometime!

now that Wallaby stole my thunder I can not tell you all the story of how he drop kicked me and ran off with my wife. That was the SCM story I had to tell everyone.. :D:

Wallaby I just saw your other post regarding the amendment to rule #7 regarding no stalking. I assure you I had no idea you would be walking thru the TTC at 6:43 pm every thursday while whistling dixie and drinking a bottle of dasani water, taking exactly 258 steps to get to the mono rail. :D:

now I will also try to get serious. Next SGT I witnessed was the guy who cut line in front of my kids waiting to see Chip and Dale, I am pretty laid back and I just laugh this stuff off but then he proceeds to pull out at least 8 autograph books that he insists both Chip and Dale sign....... arg sometimes I just hate people. Hats off to the wonderful CM who after seeing the books come out tell him he had to wait in line.

Ok now the SCM story, All the hype will make this story seem lame and the more I think about it perhaps I also played the role of SG a little bit on this one. It was late at night after a day at MK and I was tired. My wife decides she wants me to go down to the food court and get us some sundaes as a snack. We were far away from the food court so I was not the happiest camper to have to head in for a snack that I did not even want. Anyways I ask the girl making the sundaes if they qualify as a snack credit on the DP she tells me they do so I order 3 of them. I get to the cash and tell the CM that I am using my snack credits. He then informs me that they can not be used for this sundae as it does not qualify as a snack. I politely inform the CM that I had asked the CM who made them for me if they would qualify and was told they would. He then rudely informed me that she would never have told me this as she should know better. I asked him to ask her himself if she had told me this to which he replied "it does not matter what she said I am telling you it does not" I then was angry and replied "if you are not going to put it on the snack plan then I do not want them" He sat there gave me this F-you smirk and said "you ordered them you need to pay for them" I just left them there and walked away.

I told my wife the story and she insisted I call the front desk I however just wanted to let it go. I was not going to allow that one incident to taint my entire visit. As I said in any company you always get "one"

What resort was this? You didn't do anything wrong. One of them told you the wrong thing, but instead of solving the issue, the guy at the register made it worse by not helping you. He should have double checked, and asked the girl. I would have called for a supervisor or manager on duty. Sometimes, if you were informed that it was on it, but really wasn't, they will do it anyways. But I stress the word "SOMETIMES."

It was at the All-star sports resort. I am sure if I had asked for a supervisor the issue would have been resolved more than likely in my favour but I was just tired and this "kid" obviously either did not like his job or was not having a good night so I could not be bothered.

I just let it go and continued to enjoy every other minute of my stay I had left. I loved it so much there I am trying to talk my wife into us going back for another week in October. But this time I will upgrade to a nicer resort I realy liked the WL when I was over there for dinner.

It depends on the sundae.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683477

If it is a normal sundae that sell for under $4 then it should be on the snack plan.

That is an example of a DDP snack item. If it is on the dessert menu like a table service restaurant then it would be not a snack.

After reading those items then this was a brownie sundae so the CM at cash was probaly right and that it was not supposed to be on the snack plan. The way I would have expected one of my employees to deal with this situation would be as follows.....

CM "I am sorry sir this item is not covered by snack plan"

Me " Oh I was told it was by the CM who made it"

CM " Let me confirm with her" " Sir I am sorry for the misunderstanding she was incorrect but since it was our error I will do it for you this time. Thank you and have a great night"

The attitude I got was not acceptable instead of having an understanding but happy guest he ended up throwing out the Sundaes and having a frustrated guest.

Now you have learned a new trick about WDW. Know about the DDP as it is so much fun to abuse. I remember when people would go to certain resorts and get a loaf of bread for a snack item. You could buy a bag of popcorn to fill up the kids and save one CS snack for some juice for the kids to split. It used to be you could get 6 donuts for one CS snack, lol.

lol honestly, If I was the cashier.... That's exactly how I would have handled it. Maybe not exactly, but I would have given it to you anyways. It's better business to cut a loss and keep you happy anyways. When I worked fast food, I would sometimes hand out a cookie to a kid if the family was nice. Yeah, they might have lost maybe a dollar, but my boss knew what I was doing. I was investing (so to speak). They see we are really nice and have great service, so they will come back again. And from what I saw, it worked. They always came back, unless they were traveling through.
