Space and an SG at Soarin'...

A guest saw my name tag, which states that I am from Lakeland, FL, which is indeed my home as I spent much of my childhood and all of my teenage years there but, originally my family moved from Fairbanks, AK when I was about 10. He had on an Alaska shirt and I began a conversation asking him where he had been. He proceeded to tell me that he had been all over and there was no way I was from Fairbanks because I didn't know about a Wal-Mart that did not even exist when I lived there! (We moved in 1996, no Wal-Mart yet!). Anyway, our conversation from that point on goes like this:

Angry Guest: "Look, there is NO WAY you lived in the final frontier!"

Me: "Well sir, you are correct!"

Angry Guest: "I knew it!"

Me: "Yes sir! I have never lived in space."

Angry Guest: "WHAT?!"

Me: "Well you see sir, space is the final frontier. Alaska is the last frontier. So you are correct, I have not lived in the final frontier."

At that point he got mad, called me a stupid kid, and stormed off. Later my manager came asking about an angry guy asking if I told him I was from space. I told the entire event to my manager who, being a fellow Star Trek fan, laughed with me.

This happened quite a while ago, when I was pregnant, so it had to be about 2 years ago but I still remember it!

Haha, sadly, that mission would indeed be a difficult and probably rather unsuccessful one...

I guess the guy didn't believe me because it was Alaska and many people seem to think no one has lived there even if they visit and see people. No...its actually a state wide giant theme park and all the "humans" you see are animatronics! :D:

My oldest sister and her family use to like in Anchorage. She was a lawyer and her husband was one too. Their daughter loved it out there. I wish I could have gone, but I was at work. The place is so pretty, but the winters are cold and snowy. :)

I will help you drink the beer. I will take a pallet full. BEER kills kidney stones and I have one that reminds me of SG who bug me at work.

SG: If the butter corn real corn?

ME: No it is toxic waste molded into a piece of corn.

SG: Where are the Mc Donald's fries?

ME: Across Harbor Blvd, Disneyland no longer sells them.

Speaking of Alaska, our prized possession from a trip, is a t-shirt from the Alaska Zoo with Binky on it, with his tennis shoe, and the caption "Send more tourists!"

(THE ultimate cure for an SG!!)
