Parade wars

Hi, when we were there in Dec. we had an ugly incident with another "parent" while waiting for the parade. We got there very early to get a spot and were sitting there for quite a while when this skanky young mother shows up with her equally skanky boyfriend and their two yr. old in a stroller; he could easily see over my kids' heads. My kids were sitting down at the edge of the curb so that others behind us could see. The two yr. old started acting up (like 2 yr. olds will) but then started kicking and hitting my kids. I didn't even notice this at first b/c my 16 yr. old daughter and her friend politely asked the mom to pull him back a little. It continued. This time I heard them ask her again politely, she yells "stop it!" her child screams at her, she gives him candy. It continues and I get involved, again, still polite. Then daughter tells her to pull him back. All this time 2 yr. old is seriously kicking them in the back and hitting them. Finally I tell her if she dsn't have him stop I'm going to have the kids stand up & verbal fight ensues with her screaming "he's just 2, it's a game" and me telling her I didn't let my 2 yr. olds hit anyone. She yells, I threaten to get security. Kids stand up, let other children around us stand next to them, 2 yr. old's mom leaves yelling. What are we supposed to do when something like this happens and what would Disney do? Have they removed people for behavior like this?

Removing them would be nice. Now if they would get rid of the Parades,Fantasmic and the fireworks,these problems would never happen in the first place. :rolleyes: (I'm sure the Fire Marshall would have a coronary if he saw all these people sardined together in one place.) :eek:

I know what you mean... you cannot move down Main Street once wishes is over. I could just imagine the chaos that would ensue if something happened to cause a panic. There is nowhere to move.

Instead of lowering yourself to their level you should have gotten video of her kid kicking people then contacted the nearest security if around or CM. Explain that a woman is allowing her kid to hurt people .

If she thought it was a game and was so inept a mother as to not control the child then do not fight her.You do not know what else is wrong with her like mental illness, drugs, booze or bad parenting.

Sounds like she got her parenting skills from the Red Queen;

"Spank your baby when he cries
And beat him when he sneezes.
He only does it to annoy--
And because he knows it teases
Wow, wow, wow!"

How Awful! :mad:
She may learn to stop her kid when someone less well behaved turns around and smacks him:rolleyes-or not, and then someday she'll have someone bigger than herself who thinks violence will be tolerated. Good Luck to her then, she'll probably have to visit her baby in jail.

Not a problem, she'll be going there to see the kids dad anyway. :cool:

Hey now, I object to this!

Maury may not have found out who her baby daddy is yet :D:

I really don't think I did lower myself to her level. I didn't raise my voice, she did, she did all the swearing and yelling and we remained polite but adamant. I was very nervous about leaving the kids to get a CM and couldn't flag one down. I made sure the other kids could see, I just didn't know what else to do and it was awful. The video is an excellent idea but unfortunately, I don't have one.
