My first thought as well. (Much better than my second and third thoughts, which involved "The plane, Boss, the plane" and "rich Corinthian leather.")
Last I saw him was in Spy Kids 3D and he looked well, and still had his acting chops, even though confined to a wheelchair. RIP.

On Yahoo news, they had the announcement, and there was a line that said, "Whatever happened to Tattoo?" DUH, Herve Villechaize blew his brains out like 15 years ago! I was living in the Shadow Hills area of Sunland, in L.A. County, in the mid-80s-mid-90s, and one time I was going into the one liquor store, and Herve was coming out, carrying a bag of groceries. However, since at that time there had been a report of him waving a gun at some guests at his home, I didn't mess with him! I just left him be. I was still living there when he committed suicide.
Yeah, I remember "rich Corinthian leather", Mr. Roarke, and Khan. He looked pretty good for his age. My mom was eating at a restaurant one time with one of her brothers, they were on the pation, and mom saw this gentleman with a slight limp entering the restaurant. Took her a minute to realize it was Ricardo Montalban, who'd had polio as a kid. He always projected class and understated elegance. We will not see his like again.

Wasn't he the model for Billy Crystal's Hernando's Hideaway on SNL? "It is better to look good then to feel good."
I still remember Hernando interviewing Ringo Starr and leering at Barbara Bach.

His brother Carlos was a bit actor back in 1934 and died in 1991.
Ricardo Montalban was a paraplegic since 1993 when he had a 9.5 hour surgery. It is amazing how suave and debonair he was despite all the pain he was in for much of his life. His Wife recently died and she was Loretta Young's sister. Mom reminded me of that. I remember last seeing him in Spy Kids as the grandfather. Sad to see him go. He was one of them men that aged gently and was handsome even when he was old.
