[spoiler]Base is the area where we load and unload the Exterior and Lagoon beams... oops, that's Express and Resort. :D:

The place that acts as a control tower is simply "Monorail Central" and is located at the Concourse Station... the extension of Base that services the Epcot beam. It is the thing that looks like a control tower next to the front cab of trains operating under regular operation on that beam.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Official names now? Sadly, Express and Resort. However, for those of us who love Monorail history, you can still see the original names on the consoles where we control power to the sections of the beams near stations: Exterior and Lagoon. They were originally named this because monorails on both beams went the same direction and made all the same stops... then the Contemporary, Magic Kingdom, Polynesian and TTC Base.[/spoiler]

I know for a fact that everything is on record... in fact, the other night I verified something that I knew that I knew that I knew to be true, but I wanted it on the radio record. [spoiler]12 load tires and 48 guide tires for a total of 60 tires/wheels. The tires are nitrogen-filled to reduce the possibility of fire.They also have run-flat capability and can last 100,000 miles in normal operation. Maximum speed for these tires is 65 mph and the load capacity of these tires are 12,800 pounds each at maximum inflation. The guide tires help to steer the suspension in 3 deg in each direction.[/spoiler]

I want to note that no I did not "cheat" and Google any of the information. I have my own monorail site. :)

6. There is through the windshield, the hatch in the roof, firemen cut a hole in the roof, SG gets thrown out the windows, out the doors.

I know the monorail uses rubber wheels/tires but not how many. They do not allow me under the monorail sigh.

I bet Zazu can get most of them questions right.

I know the Monorails are parked in a barn but only 10 at a time and the runway is an airstrip and is used for bus parking on special events and bus training. I can be used to reroute traffic from the intersection also as a detour. That was discussed long ago in this site and I did a lot of research on that airstrip.

I do not know the name, but the runway is where Walt would land his plane during the building and surveying of the land for WDW. it is currently used for bus parking I believe.

The runway was for small plane traffic, not Walt's, he was long dead before construction ever began at WDW. It didn't work out because there was not enough space to park planes and shelter them. It is now used to store vehicles. Walt used the Orlando airport when looking at the land (after purchase, of course). They hadn't even started to clear any land until the late 60's.

[SPOILER]That's the name of the airstrip. Used primarily for bus training and parking and, I believe, parking for the construction workers working on Bay Lake Tower. Bambi Lake is the name of the body of water, you were very close but not quite right.[/SPOILER]

Pretty sure the STOLport runway carries the IATA Designation "DWS" but since it's an inactive airfield, some websites don't list it as such.

I do not believe the STOLport has an official designation anymore. According to this article from Jim Hill Disney said "no" to anybody using the Lake Buena Vista STOLport in the 80's because of fears that a freak downdraft could send a plane right into the Epcot Monorail beam, or worse into a train (the only approach to the strip is from the southwest, right over the monorail beam).

Even after the airfield was shut down the strip still showed up on FAA charts for many years, only taken off after 9/11 which turned WDW into a no-fly zone.

Disney doesn't let ANYBODY land at the STOLport anymore. They didn't even make an exception for Mickey Mouse One (Walt's private plane) when it was brought in to be put into Studios' boneyard. Instead they closed down World Drive to land it and towed it to Studios from there.
