Mouseplanet posted these images of a test of the castle decor for the
50th:

Read the article for a fuller summary of what's happening. They've hired
an Austrian firm who specializes in projecting art on buildings so that
they can have some really cool stuff on the castle at night, but have it
look totally normal during the day.

ugh...that "patriotic" scheme is HIDEOUS!!! I vaguely remember
projected images on the Matterhorn and Space Mountain for the Star
Tours opening (I think). They used laser images...it was considered cool
at the time...kind of lame now that I think about it.

Whatever happened to old fashioned fabric bunting and banners? Why a
European company? Why not WDI doing the celebratory designs?

I think given a) the limited time they have left and b) the massive
trimming back of WDI, they didn't have much choice except to contract
out.

ugh... I agree, the patriotic one IS hideous. I hope they don't include
that. It'll be interesting to see what they DO end up doing tho.

Those Castle pics are the center of some inter-Disney Fan site
grumblings. Apparently DisneyForever.com scooped all the other sites
by posting those pictures first a couple weeks ago. Now
MousePlanet.com has slapped their own logo on the pics, put them in
their update and claiming they are new. Sounds to me like we have
some espionage going on... They are only pictures of after hours
testing. Calm Down!

The Castle's treatment

Well as long as they don't paint it pink and make it look like a giant cake
like they did here in WDW.

Mouseplanet always slaps their image on pics. It's kind of a standard
web trick to keep others from ripping them off. Go take a look at
gamespot.com and you'll see that they brand all of their game
screenshots, even if they were received with a PR kit and not sampled by
GS themselves. Same thing.

YEah, DisneyForever usually puts their name on them, but didn't do it on
these because they were officially Disney's. Either way though, MP
claimed they took the picture and gave no credit to Disney as they were
Copyright Disney's.

There are two other photos of it I have seen with the castle looked like it
had crayons all over it and another one that looked odd like trees on the
bottom and yellow on the top.

These are all just tests and not even confirmed to be used. They are just
testing out what is possible because these will match up with the new
50th fireworks and the parade at night.
