Mine was Karate Kitties, and it was one of the pre-defined. Today I had to log in three times before succeeding--and I was using my right username and password. For some reason, this is about the only site I go to regularly that AutoComplete has not offered to save my password for. Wonder why? Also, when I logged on today, the space for my avatar said "Edit Avatar". The first two times I tried to log in, I got the "Thank you for logging in, felinefan" message, but I was trying to reply to a message and got the screen saying that I couldn't post because I either wasn't logged in or didn't have authorization. That's where I saw the edit avatar notice. For some reason I didn't log on like I usually do the minute I get here; I think I was distracted by this thread! Man, it sucks getting old....

Grumpy is using a system that can see avatars that I cannot on foxfire or IE. Firefox does not show anything as that is the norm for that system whereas IE shows a big X when the picture is not showing.

When I put that URL into IE and foxfire then I get:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I can see them all, and using nothing more than IE7 with the latest patches.

but could still see them before I got the latest security fix a few days ago.

The system that I use other browsers on cannot be used to access SGT.

Polar, you might look at the latest Firefox security updates as the cause.

I noticed today that daddytomjm's avatar is missing too. My computer is current on all updates; I just checked. Should I install IE 8 Beta,or Silverlight? When I go to the Microsoft update site, they're pushing both. Anybody using either of those who can give me opinions on them?

I tried IE8 Beta, and had so many problems right off the bat that I uninstalled it, reinstalled IE7.

Why don't you just get rid of IE and move to Firefox or Safari?

Better yet, buy a mac and get forced to switch ;)

Umm, because it works just fine! And I run Windows on five of the six machines at home. (one has redhat)

but not all are on the interweb!

plus a lot of the software that I use works best on a WIN XP platform.

After each use of the "production" machines I secure wipe the HDD, and put a new image back on!

I have used MAC's at work, meh!

Is Grumpy Pirate the only one who can see the missing avatars?

I have the latest updated security manure from firefox and IE 7 I think.
