I want to use a funny Star Trek line, but nothing comes to mind that doesn't sound disrespectful.

Warp 9.9, Majel

If you want a good read, "Star Trek Creator" is about Gene Roddenberry and has some sections that shows how she came into his life and helped him.

(if you havn't read it already)

She probably had as much involvement in Star Trek over the years as anyone -- more if you count the different roles she played: from Number One in the original series pilot, to Nurse Chapel (later Dr. Chapel in the movies), to Lwaxana Troi in ST:TNG, to most of the computer voices that were heard. Rest in peace, Majel.

She influenced Star Trek and I always watched for her as she was one of my favourites of the years. Behind a good man is a great lady.

Somehow I missed this; what did she die of?

That leaves William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, and Walter Koenig, from the original series. DeForest Kelly, Jimmy Doohan, and the actress who played Yeoman Janice Rand are gone, as is Mark Lenard, who played Spock's father; the guy who played Harvey Mudd committed suicide years ago; I don't know for sure if the actress who played Spock's mother is still alive or not.

Spock's Mother, 'Father Knows Best' Star Jane Wyatt Remembered
Jane Wyatt, television icon and mother to Spock, died peacefully at her Bel-Air home in California last Friday. She was 96.
A stage, film and television star, Wyatt is best remembered as the supportive and iconic mother Margaret Anderson in Father Knows Best, alongside Robert Young. It was for this role that she won three Emmys in a row (1958-60). Star Trek fans will of course remember Wyatt as Spock's caring mother and Sarek's devoted wife Amanda in "Journey to Babel," a role she reprised in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home."
