yesterday i switched over to cout t.v. instead of watching the news at noon and lo! what should be on but the criminal trial of one victoria walker in the brawl at wdw at the teacups
she kept saying that the woman whose head she grabbed (she says she didn't grab or pull the woman's hair) had elbowed her and kicked her, but it left no mark...she was found guilty and was sentenced to 90 days (32 time served already) and, i do believe, 9 months of probation...
i'm pretty sure this resolution happened some time ago, but it just made it to court t.v....needless to say (but i'm gonna say it anyway) the injured party is now suing wdw (big surprise there, huh?)...she says that cm's stood by and did nothing to help [/font]

What? WDW CMs were supposed to intervene in a cat fight? Show me that in the CM training manual!

You got that right! If guests got into a fight in my area I'd call Security and management but stay out of it otherwise. I'm not getting paid to break up fights and I'm not going to risk getting injured by doing so.

This was hotly disputed and debated and studied by disney related sites. There is some question as to how badly the victim was hurt and if the victim was not the instigator in this matter.
You are paid to do a job not end up getting hurt especially when you do not even know who the attacker is. You can get sued for setting on a guest who is violent or gets hurt when you try to break up a fight. Disney has bouncers called Security. It is sad that some momma is in jail but then again as I have stated I was not there and knowing people would not doubt that the vicitm was the instigator or that a sweet momma went bizerk.

Wouldn't a bucket of cold water do the job? :D:

Sorry but if someone got hit by the bucket they would sue. Someone could sued because they slipped on the water. Someone could sue because the water damaged their personal belonging. Someone could sue because the water got in their eye and cause them to loose a contact lens. Someone could sue because their mascara ran thus making them look ridiculous and embarassing. Someone could sue because their mascara ran and got into their eyes. Someone could sue because the water caused the to have an ear infection, get a cold and loose their job because of said sickness.
Also it is not good show for a guest to watch a CM dousing guests with ice water, lol.

At the very least you'd think there would be some tender vittles CMs could throw at and try to distract them.

We had a 'similar' situation at work this summer. Some crack-whore was bouncing arond the company parking-lot like a butterfly on acid. I could'nt get ahold of my boss to watch her on camera. Finally after 5 mins, some guy pulls up in his car and she jumps in. 30 secs later she jumps out and goes back to her car (out of my line of sight). Well, the operations manager comes running up,yelling " What the fuck do we have security for,if they can't stop a drug deal in broad daylight??"
I was thinking to myself,"Where the F did you grow up. I would'nt walk up on a drug deal w/o a 45 Long-slide with hollowpoints and body-armor".
I did manage to get the plate # of the dealers car, which I gave to my boss.

Once when I was working Huff'N'Puff at Knott's, there were these two women whose kids were in line to ride, and one gal yelled at the other, saying her kid cut in line ahead of hers, the other woman yelled back, one of them had a cup of ice water which she threw at the other woman, then they attacked each other. I was too busy with the kids to call security, so the lady at the face painting booth next door called, and security broke it up. I was thinking, come on, ladies, it's just a little kid's ride! It 's not the end of the world! Yeesh, the stupid things people use as an excuse for their behavior....
Then they wonder why their kids grow up to be uncivilized thugs....
