It seems that Karma keeps confirming that my flight from Food & Beverage was well timed :o:

Disneyland Resort tests Dining Plan

Those of you who are working in Foods (and Stores to an extent), I feel for you. Prepare for all the SGTs they've been dealing with over at WDW F&B for the longest time now:

(oh, and did I mention that ODV isn't excluded from this, though the Downtown Disney Operating Participant restaurants are...for now  .)

SG: What do you mean my little Timmy can't order the Sirloin Steak that costs more than the daily cost of his plan!? He's a picky eater and refuses to settle for Chicken Nuggets, of all things.

SG: You don't accept the Dining Plan!? It says it's good everywhere (not true). You've ruined my vacation™!

And so many more....

At WDW there are a hundred places to eat so the plan would work there but DLR has many fewer restaurants and they are farther spread out. You would have to hotel hop and park hop. At WDW you can take busses that drop you off at the sites but DLR is hiking forever.

one (1) Table Service voucher, one (1) Quick Service voucher and one (1) Snack voucher per person

To eat at the really nice places takes two table vouchers. You get two meals a day and one snack. If you want a nice place to eat then you are skipping another meal. There is one place in DCA for table service and 3 in DL. I would not want to hike to the hotel for dinner. I just do not see how this plan is convenient or cheaper.

Remember you have to be a guest at a Disney hotel to use the dining plan so for those who use it you are already there. Personelly, I eat mostly counter service as it is. We do like Storyteller at Grand C and Goofy's kitchen but dont make them every time.

I added the dining package to my WDW trip at the end of the month, I wanted all counter service but they are not offering it that way yet so its standard package for this trip, wish me luck. I'm going to make a couple of res but mostly wing it and hope for the best.
