Pleasure Island closes forever tonight.

All in all a sad day in Disney history. Pleasure Island's night clubs will close their doors forever. While most of the clubs can go to hell for all I care as they weren't unique closing the Adventurer's Club and, to a lesser extent, Comedy Warehouse is an unforgivable sin IMO. Someone is going to answer to God come Judgment Day for closing the AC! There is no place like it anywhere. Very unique and lots of fun.
I no longer live in the Mask Room as my title used to say, sadly I've been evicted from it. My old title came from a trip to the AC with BW one time. We were in the Mask Room and Hathaway Browne was picking on me. He asked where I was from and not thinking I said "from here" and he said "the Mask Room?" and I played along and said yes. He said that explained the sleeping bag found in there and other things along those lines. Lots of fun so since then I have "lived in the Mask Room" but with the closing of the club I've naturally been evicted.

Pleasure Island was my favorite. My sister Moe took me there about 3 years ago. The library was allot of fun. We were planning to vosot there before we left, but we ran out of time. Now it is gone, we will have to remember the memories. Talking pictures, lots of fun when you were intoxicated.
:(

I didn't see that much of the Adventurer's Club (a Mask Room show was all I saw the last time I was at WDW :( ). But I did like what I saw, Disney ingenuity meets a mature audience and a mature sense of humour.... :D: .
Ah well, I guess there's always YouTube to see what I missed

:( . Won't be the same, but it'll have to do.

Here's to selling out .... Does Disney REALLY need more shops and restaurants?

DH and I were there - we both were about to cry! Our first "official" date was with friends to a joint MGM/Pleasure Island jaunt in 1992. We've celebrated there every October 30th since then - don't know what we're going to do this year.
Even though I have kids, and even when they were very young, I still thought that Disney having somewhere just for adults was one of the smartest things they could possibly do - guess I'm in the minority.

I'm missing the AC soooo much already. I've made so many wonderful, amazing memories there and I've met lots of great friends there too. Examples of my favorite memories:
-Dancing to "Grey Squirrel" in Sugar Snapp's maid show with a squirrel hat on my head.
-Receiving my Adventurer's Club pin from Samantha Sterling.
-Catching a letter that Graves threw from the balcony on my last night there.
-Posing with Bessie the cow.
-Finding the sad birthday panda design that Beulah Belle pointed out to me in the carpet.
-Collecting autographs and pictures from the characters (I have 17 autographs and pictures from the club).
-Attending the Welcome Party every night I went.
I could go on and on, but I think everyone gets the idea: I truely loved my time at the AC and I will miss it, treasure it, and support it always. It was that special to me. I never imagined that I would grow so attached and the Cast Members and Guests there would become like family.
As fellow Adventurers like to say: KUNGALOOSH!
