Stupid Guest Tricks

I think that there are some bus drivers that post here?

We are going to be at WDW from October 16th until the 25th, staying at the Dolphin. I use a wheelchair and have been reading on the disAbilities board about issues with loading wheelchairs and ECV's. We will have a rental car, but usually take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know which order the buses pick up at the Epcot resorts in the a.m. to go to the Magic Kingdom?

Coming back to the Dolphin isn't an issue, as we just take the monorail and push through Epcot to the International Gateway. :)

I would have posted this on the disAbilities board, but people's feelings seem kind of raw about the issues with the buses and I didn't want to start yet another thread that turned into that particular discussion again.

Ah, discussions about buses. What fun.

Here's your basic information: Buses from the Swan to MK will pick up at Boardwalk first, then Swan, and Dolphin. There's another bus that will pick up at Yacht and Beach.

To add to BW's post. In the am, Buses to MK will do anyone of three routes.

Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin or Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk or Yacht Club, Beach Club.

So A guest staying at the Dolphin will either board second stop or last stop.

You may be able to get a spot or not depending on how full a bus is. You may want to head on over to the Swan, there you would have a pretty good chance to board without a delay.

As long as the bus is not standing room only, I know that I will do my best to accomodate you.

Thanks for the information! It looks like my best bet is to roll on over to the Swan the one morning that we are going early to the Magic Kingdom.

I really do appreciate all of the work you bus drivers do and am in awe at how you manage to do it with a smile. :) I know that dealing with the wheelchair is a hassle and I would give anything to be able to get on the bus without it.

And to be honest, in all of the years that we have been going to WDW only once did a bus driver of a Downtown Disney bus at the Boardwalk refuse to load my wheelchair and me. But the night manager at the Boardwalk was wonderful, and got the Boardwalk van out and my husband hoisted me up and in and he drove us to Pleasure Island.

Hope I get a chance to see either or both of you when I am there starting the 16th! If you see a 53 year old blonde woman in a black wheelchair being pushed by a shaved headed computer geek :) say hi!
