Even though I likes me RUM, I can't imagine walking around DLR or WDW with a bunch of alcohol in me!

FIRST of all, if its during the day, you are going to get seriously dehydrated!!

that is NOT a good thing. And how are you supposed to have fun?

of course, getting alcohol in is really very easy. a small flask in a pocket, could go undetected!

Once when I was working Huff'N'Puff at Knott's, there was this obviously inebriated Mexican guy with his little boy that came up. As the boy pumped his car around the track, his father asked where he could buy beer. I pulled out my map, and pointed out a couple of places that served beer and wine with meals--both were sit-down restaurants. He tried to take my map, but I said it was mine, and he apologized. After he left with his son, I began to worry about his impairment. I really should've called someone, if only to make sure the little boy would be safe. They must've lived in the neighborhood--no way he could've driven in his condition. And this was before noon!

I just hope the restaurant staff made him sober up for the sake of safety.

I had a similar problem FelineFan. Once, when I was out at the Camp Snoopy Cart a guy came up to me and asked were he could buy alcohol. I told him the name of a place in Fiesta Village but added that it was very expensive. He told me he didn't care he would pay any price. That's when I smelled alcohol on his breath and he reeked! Like you, I was just too stunned to even think about calling security, though I think they eventually caught up with him. I really stuck out.

Sounds like what my neighbor saw on his way to work one morning recently....a guy hit his truck, not too bad,did pull over, but then began to slowly stumble away along the freeway,VERY intoxicated.....My Neighbor, astounded, looked in the other guys car where there were TWO small children inside, thankfully not hurt, surrounded by the empties!
My neighbor stayed by the kids and called 911 while the guy continued to stumble around confusedly ....They came in a couple minutes and apprehended the guy who still was wondering where he was. The police tried to get him on every count possible, and tried to get my neighbor to say that the offender had RUN away from the scene of the crime, but my neighbor said, well, he was Stumbling, not Running
Very Sad for the Kids :(

I work from home, and used to work in my basement of a semi attached house and one morning in Jan 2003, as i was getting on my first call of the day, the whole house shook...

Startled, i ran upstairs and out to my front porch to see a Honda CRT sticking out of the bay window of my attached neighbor 4 feet off the ground.

We live in a new urban-ism community with rear laneways, and our homes looked out to the end of one. Snowplows had piled up snow on our front lawns (6 feet from our porches) and had provided a convenient ramp for this car to launch.

When the ambulance arrived the driver of the car was drunk, at 9 am.. and complaining that she had to get to work. She also claimed her alcohol problem wasn't the cause of the accident but that her anti lock breaks and 4 wheel drive had stopped working (the accident re constructionist determined she had hit the gas, not the brake).

I know a couple of CHP (and SDPD) guys, they tell me that they can pretty much arrest a drunk driver at any time of the day!

One was telling me about a factory that had 24 hour shifts, (up in the L.A. area) he and his partner were always getting callsfor drunk drivers, as the night shift would get off work abot 7 A.M., and go to one of several bars a block away, by 8 to 9 a.m., they would hit the freeway totally drunk!
(just in time for rush hour!!)

This reminds me of the worst drunk driving case I ever encountered. Years ago, a drunk plowed into the house of a woman who worked in my employer's cafeteria. Ironically, she was very active in the local chapter of MADD. The poor woman had been sleeping on her couch and was trapped for two hours. Rescuers couldn't get to her so she died. She was conscious while trapped and calling for help...gives me the shivers to think about it. The jerk-boy drunk teen who killed her was related to the mayor so he got off scot-free. I hope she haunts him to his dying die.

Nice work, pal

My sister and I went to Barona Resort and Casino. In the morning around 7 am to midnight, this Casino does not serve alcohol! :) The hours after midnight to 6:59 am they do. By that time we did not see that many players.

One of my friends who lived out in Las Vegas was waiting for a bus. A drunk driver hit the bus stop where she was waiting. She and 12 others were at the stop. The driver plowed into the bus stop, killing 5 and injuring 7. My friend had several broken ribs and a bruised lung. The driver was not so lucky. The driver died at the scene.

If I had been a relative to that poor lady, I would've been picketing that mayor's residence, and circulating a petition to have him removed, and anything else to point out the stupidity of what his son did.
