Rest In Peace Paul Newman... *pulls out a box of tissues for people to use, and points out the nearest trash can.* When we lived in Virginia sometimes the hubby would use Paul's Sockaroonie sauce for our pasta...

A really good guy. I met him at Laguna Seca when he was auctioning off stuff for a fund raiser for emergency equipment. We were sitting at a picnic table when two sets of feet appeared on the table in front of us. One set belonged to Paul.

At one point he tucked a beer can under his chin so he could use both hands. It slipped out and I caught it without spilling any.

I'll hoist a big glass of his lemonade in memory of all his good works.

Apparently he was visiting his mom at a hospital I worked at in the 80's, all of the Nurses were very excited hoping to see him.
If I recall correctly, I did get to see him race his car at the old Riverside Raceway before they tore it down to put in a shopping mall.
He definitely will be mourned, but had a life worth celebrating. :)

I haven't checked to see if they still do this or not, but his pretzels used to have the funniest copy on the back of the bags. I haven't eaten all of the stuff he's put out, but what I have tasted is excellent. At least, as my grandma said when grandpa died, he's not sick anymore.

So sad today! Paul was so awesome, he just oozed *cool*
And a good guy too! He was the ultimate philanthropist!

He was also so proud to be on Nixon's list of enemies. That made me chuckle. It WOULD be an honor to be on Nixon's list of enemies...

When someone asked him about why his long marriage to Joanne Woodward lasted the vagaries of Hollyweird, he said, "I have steak at home, why should I go out for a hamburger?" ;) I LOVE that!

What a great husband, father and man! The world is a little bit colder today with him leaving us. :(
Rest in Peace, Butch!
