Would love to know more about the OP's husband's activity: did he just turn around and try to get back on the ride?

So the guy is clumsy and Disney pays his med bills? Disney is only responcible if they are negligent and I've been in that area a bunch of times and never found anything that would make me fall.

Anyone who has had to deal with insurence companies knows you start paying then try to get your money back if you have a valid claim against someone else. If you wait for a second party to pay you you get sent to collections and hospitals/doctors office are pretty quick to send you to collections.

Sounds like someone got promised something they should not have been promised by someone who was not supposed to promise it. With the few details about the incident that were provided, it sounds like the guy had a clumsy accident that very well could have happened in his own home. Then they were promised that their expenses at Western Med would be covered by Disney - by a nurse and not by Guest Claims. My understanding is that frontline CMs aren't supposed to make decisions like this - that's what they pay Guest Claims CMs to sit in an office to do. Then, with no grounds on which to doubt the guest's story, Disney had to pay. But being a corporation with nothing to lose, they decided to wait it out as long as possible.

Assuming everything in this story is true, this looks to me like an example of stupidity on the part of Disney and the guests.

What a completely disgusting site.. After digging around I found the following link:

http://consumerist.com/5012725/professi ... is-secrets

A book by a "Professional Complaint letter writer" called "How To Complain For Fun And Profit"

It is a how-to book on how to get free stuff from companies by complaining.. Is this what we have come to as a society?

I mean, it is one thing to complain when you have a genuine reason, but to send letters specifically with the goal of getting some kind of material reward (that is the point of the book.. I checked the official webpage) that is beyond sickening..

I agree--after reading enough posts to get a general feel for what went on, etc., this is consumerism gone horribly mad. I can remember back in the 70s they had articles on how to complain effectively, but this is on a whole 'nother planet, if not universe. And I agree with one of the posters--what caused the guy to fall? When I was growing up, we were taught to watch where we were going, and if you trip and fall, it's usually your fault. But today, you trip and fall, and it's somebody else's fault, not yours; and you sue them. Reminds me of Weird Al's "I'll Sue Ya" song and video.

No wonder it takes so long for legal matters to make their way through the court system--too dang many frivolous lawsuits!
