I know FelineFan mentioned this on the Isaac Hayes thread, but I thought Engineer Bill deserved his own.

Hey, if anyone can tell me how to shrink the link, let me know.
And, Churchy, when I was four years old I wanted to marry Sheriff John! :p:

No problem! I went to "Forums" and "Break Room" and that's where I found the "New topic" button. May Engineer Bill drink his milk and run his train in heaven!

You gotta be in your late forties at least and from LA to remember this song:
See her rollin' down the track,
See her puffin' smoke so black---
Who's at the throttle?
(Woo-Woo) that's Engineer Bill!

Sad that All the entertainers are getting to that age. I wonder if they have archived the shows onto DVD's or some such.

So many memories.

Don't forget Beany and Cecil and Crusader Rabbit.
When I was a kid I probably watched 4-6 hrs of TV a day because my mom worked from home. Or maybe 8-10! My husband is always amazed when I know ALL the words to a theme song or dog food commercial.
Feed him Doctor Ross dog food, do him a favor.
It's got more meat and it's got more flavor.
It's got more meat to make us feel the way we shou-ould!
Doctor Ross dog food is dog-gone good. Woof!
:dog1: :dog3: :dog5: :dog7:

:dog4: :dog6: :dog8:
Or this one:
School bells ring and children sing
It's back to Robert Hall again.
Mother knows for better clothes
It's back to Robert Hall again...
Anybody wanna hear the Roto-Rooter song? I didn't think so.

yes, when they announced engineer bill was gone all i could think was "well, i guess it's a red light from now on"...
and then i thought there's not many of the older guys left...just sheriff john (would you believe i have a 78 of "put another candle on my birthday cake"?) and tom hatten (he has a radio show in l.a., but i sure do miss him doing his old t.v. show of family oriented movies...i have tom sawyer and alice in wonderland on dvd and can almost hear tom hatten giving little tidbits of info... [yep, i found a website that sells the version of alice in wonderland with charlotte henry and all star cast])...
i remember the other shows mentioned...and i'll bet zazu remembers them all too! ;)
