As I'm sure you all remember from last year, the joyous fun of getting to work, the tons of folks stretched out all over the road..the Disneyland half marathon is back!

Now stretched over an entire weekend, August 29-31, 2008. Yay. You can go to this linky here to find out more:

But I have this paper saying that not only will there be the marathon on the 31st, but there will also be a Heely's kids race! Ooh, boy. I want my camera for all the accidents that are going to happen during that event. Also that more than 13,000 crazy nuts, I mean people have signed up to run down our friendly Anaheim streets.

I do have a map of the route, but I don't have a scanner. Basically, anyone working that day in the morning had better leave hella early or you're screwed.

:D:

That seems so wrong...what is gonna happen when they all pile up?

I don't think the race organizers thought that one through!

Keep a video camera ready, and when pileups occur, add appropriate voiceover commentary and send it to America's Funniest Videos. Who knows, you could be the grand prize winner! ;) :D:

A heelie race? I think there should be hidden hazzards in this race. Lets have fun with this:

1. gravel road
2. motor oil spill
3. invisable trip wire
4. sudden foot stretches that can cause them to wipe out
5. new freeway on ramp- they have to skate on, travel in the fast lane and exit the freeway safely without getting into a crash with traffic.

Now if they were skating with the joggers, hopefully they will trip them as they try to pass. The joggers should get the universal remotes as well. Push pause and then wheel fall out button would be great. The should be an area where the heelies have to run in the wet grass. Those wheels would lock and the heelie brats will loose the race.

I have 350 water balloons at home with an adapter, it could be some fun for those who cheat on the race.

I'm assuming you're joking about the Heely race. Although that would be really fun to see.

Oh to be a lawyer or doctor right now, wow the money they will be making. Tow trucks might make some money from accidents and stalled cars who are lot in the detours.

You forgot my favourite part of the heelie race is the Chihuahua Slalom where racers slalom the course and the pylons are yippping and snipping little Chihuahuas who have not recently been fed. Small dogs so that the racers can make it through the course.

I wonder if Bruce would want to show up for the Heelie Steeplechase portion of the race. Oops you missed the jump and Bruce put that down, bad Bruce.

Are the Disney Half and Full marathons that bad? I'm a runner and I was considering signing up for one and making a vacation out of it. I've heard mixed reviews about it from other runners but I want to get a CM's point of view.

And I hate to say this but a Heelies race sounds like a lot of fun actually.

I don't know but I would think they'd be good for the runners. Annoying for CMs though as they create havoc with traffic and getting to work. When they held the marathon here a few months back I was damn glad my commute didn't include any of the roads used by the marathon. With DL being right there in the city and there being less alternate routes one can take to avoid the marathon the traffic being even worse.

I must have my popcorn to watch the Heely's race.

I really hate those shoes.
