Forged Fastpass Foolishness

So I’m waiting for the rope drop at Epcot. I notice a group of 4-5 next to me who are distributing a whole bunch of fastpasses among themselves ... fake, of course.
I’m debating whether it’s even worth trying to grab a CM’s attention (can SGs even be busted before they try to use them?), when I notice some confusion among the forgers. Apparently they were a little too stupid for their own good – the fastpasses had the next day’s date on them. I wonder what happened next...

If these SG have forged fasspasses, yup they can get kicked out. If they get caught by a cast member, that cast member calls security....I bet you, the will be banned from Disney parks. Each day at Disneyland, the park uses a different color for the attractions fastpass. This prevents SG from countierfiting.
My favorite story came from a friend from foods. Some SG was passing poorly marked $100 bills. A call came into security from costodial. They found a $100 plate to in which to make phony bills. I believe they found it in Tomorrowland. The plate had the SG's finger prints all over it.

Wow. It's one thing to try to cheat. It's another to cheat and be stupid about it. And I bet Security immediately called APD, who in turn immediately called the FBI.
I've never liked DLR's policy on how to deal with counterfeit money but then again that may be to protect CMs from assaults, etc.

Not that it really matters, but for future reference (so you can win a bet at a bar at some point in the future), conterfeit U.S. currency comes under the jurisdiction of the Secret Service (which was actually the original reason the Secret Service was created... Even now, the guys who guard the President are employees of the Treasury Department)

Because they certainly don't want to protect you if it does happen.

Umm, they were transfered to DHS in 2003, along with U.S. Customs, and many other agencies. The mission remains the same, and has expanded.
The reason they don't want you to confront someone passing money, is that the people passing the funny money are usually not the same ones that printed it, and they usually work in teams. If confronted, there could be two, three, or more people helping them escape the situation.

I know, whenever I see them using "DHS" to talk about a Disney park, Ya gotta wonder if that was on purpose! At least it wasn't "Disney Uptown Hollywood"!
HA!
