Stupid Guest Tricks

My wife and I each got a notice of a class action lawsuit against DLR. I don't have the paperwork in front of me at the moment, but off the top of my head the suit is basically about compensation for being denied break/lunch periods. It basically covers all hourly Disney employees at Anaheim, Ontario, and Glendale who were employed any time between February 2004 through June 2008 (I could have the months wrong). One thing that I thought was odd was the suit specifically said that CMs at Goofy's Kitchen were excluded.

The question I have is, did any other current/former DLR CMs get this, and/or does anyone know any of the backstory to this?

I got one, but I don't know the backstory. Although reading through the paperwork (well more like skimming) it looks like there was something similar aimed specifically for Goofy's Kitchen so it's excluded from the current one.

Never been denied squat. Our leads have always been very on top of that sort of thing.

Probably because our attraction doesn't use CDS. That might be why it runs just a tad bit smoother... ;)

I'm just ignoring it. I've been there for less than 7 months....haven't been denied any breaks....kinda pointless for me.

Couple things on that... They're trying to bring CDS to Monorails, to which my response is

They've run simulations, from what I've heard, and CDS cannot account for all the interesting things that can and do happen throughout the day on 'Rails.

Other thing about this suit... I can't help but think even if you do jump on the wagon, all you're gonna see when all is said and done is about $3.

I'm thinking the same thing especially since it's asking me to think as far back as 4 years how many times I think I was gypped (sp?) on breaks.

Also no department I worked in used CDS while I was there, so I wonder if this has to do with CDS.

The other thing I wonder is how the lawyers got my and my wife's address in Washington. I may have given the DLR our first address in WA but I'm sure my wife never did, and I'm positive the DLR on an official basis doesn't know we're married. Even then how did the lawyers get our current address?

That's why we don't use CDS on the subs. We had it when I first started....you'd come back from a break, CDS would tell you to bump John Doe for his break from Front Dock, and you go out there right as John is pulling away from the dock in Nautilus. 15 minutes later, John is back, and he finally gets his break (15 minutes late). John gets back from his break, is told to bump Jane from rear dock for her break. He gets there right as they've started loading Jane's sub....17 minutes later, Jane gets her break (32 minutes late).

I'm sure you can see where this is going....probably same thing will happen on the Monorail.

I don't think I'll send the form in.

All above said, plus I'll probably wind up on some
list of cm's to have "something go horribly wrong"
at a later date. I've watched it happen a few times
to others in my area that make waves or force issues.

I think you still have to send in the release form, which basically states that you want nothing to do with it.

I got this. I have no clue on what this is. Or the story behind it.
