If you had a time machine...

If that time machine would let you go back to any point in time, but for only ten minutes, but you couldn't choose to spend that time with some deceased relative or loved one, what point in time would you choose?

I think I would go here

Assuming I could go back as my adult self, I'd go back to when I was a kid, and encourage my younger self to not let the idiots get me down, and instruct my younger self in becoming a published writer. I also would tell my younger self that she is most definately not "learning disabled" no matter what the quacks say, and to learn as many job skills as possible, including the computer. (Even though at that time, they were just coming out of the realm of sci-fi). I'd be earning a decent income by now if that had happened. Not to mention being published.

I'd probably go back to the same time and place as you, BW. That or to the Magic Kingdom's dedication.

As I'd only have ten minutes I'd definitely have to time it so I get there right at the beginning of Walt's speech (or in the case of MK's dedication Roy's speech).

BW, I might be right there with you. Can I use it more than once?

Lots of moments to choose from, probably should have invested in Bill Gates' crazy little ideas or something. Or bought a lottery ticket with the winning numbers. Or turned down my ex-husband when he asked me out!

Tackled to the ground and tickled by 10 or so little girls (as they sang my name in the "Name Game" song style) at the after-party of a children's theater production I had worked on with them. It was in the backyard of one of the young cast members and rain was just slightly drizzling outside. It was just joy and laughter at it's purest. I truly had never felt that amount of happiness since then.

Who says it isn't too late?

After a 7 year absence from the formal music scene, I will be going back to voice lessons and plan to be the singer I always had my heart on being. I had studied for 6 years previously but stopped when I went to college. However I'm inspired to sing again as I'd like to further myself in my work. My main aim is light classical and "Broadway" style. I sung in the past, so I'm gonna sing again. So who knows what can happen if you just go for it!

I'd go back and visit myself when I was in the Army MP school. I'd punch myself in the back of the head so I'd raise my hand and volunteer to go to West Point Military Academy. My first career mistake.

I'd like to go back and watch the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I've always been fascinated with Benjamin Franklin and would love just ten minutes to shake his hand and watch what is probably one of the most pivotal moments in this country's history.

Hmm...since we can't spend it with relatives I guess I wouldn't go to Cuba. I suppose I would love to have seen when Thomas Jefferson finished writing the last line of the Declaration of Independence.
