Stupid Guest Tricks

So glad to find this site to vent out some of the unbelievable stories that our guests supply us with. I am a current cast member at DHS and currently working at the new attraction Toystory Midway Mania. Before our various openings for cast, and passholders there was a film shoot for all the publicity people. I was standing there and one of the actors/extras aske me is she could ask me a question. I said sure feel free.

"Can you tell me when they will be taking all of this down and moving this to the Magic Kingdom?"

She thought the entire ride was just a set to be used for this publicily event. I told her Disney has lots of magic but not that much. That this was the newest attraction and it would be staying here at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Can't blame her, there are only so many times I could visit DHS and DAK in a 5-year span, while hitting the MK is something I could practically do every day. It's irksome that they put really good new rides (like the Matterhorn one at DAK) which means that you've got to go there just to see that new ride...

Ummm....that's why they do it. If a park has low attendance, they put in a couple of really good, repeatable rides and keep doing it until the attendance goes up. It serves two purposes, it makes the park with low attendance justified in being open and it alleviates crowds in the high attendance parks.

I know, I know... but there's a reason attendance isn't so hot at those "other" parks.

I hit all the parks every trip, usually one and a half to two days each and might even pop in for a couple of hours to hit my favorites on another day. Every trip to DL I do both DL and DCA, there are things at all the parks I like to do so i visit all of them. I think TSMM is a great addition to DHS and DCA and look forward to riding at both parks.

The thing is, Epcot, Animal Kingdom (and to some extent) Hollywood Disney are pretty huge places but with not a lot to see. Yeah, at some point they'll hit saturation point and there will be a lot of rides to choose from, but when I went to AK something like in the first year it opened, there wasn't a heck of a lot to see and the dinosaur ride was misbehaving. Gives you a bad taste, esp. when it's 110 degrees and humid ;-)

Depending on the last time you went on Safari, we have animals now. You will always see animals. You won't see all of them (I can guarantee you won't see the Stanley Crane, since we don't have any), and even if they're out you'd be amazing at how even the giraffes can hide. But you will always see some animals. I really like the rest of AK, but the Safari is what makes the park worth it.

:hysteria: For some reason I find that question hilarious. Was she blonde? Just kidding to all you blondes out there.... Are you going to move the attraction? Yeah, we like to rotate all the attractions throughout the Parks...heeheehee

I think I saw a Stanley Crane in the MK... it was helping build the north tower of the Contemporary.

Along those lines, does KSR have any Caterpillars? Or John Deere? :D:

Exactly....It is called marketing. Build it and they will come to quote "Field of Dreams" PSST,,,btw..it is Expedition Everest at AK, Matterhorn is at DL in California. Easy to confuse I am sure, it took me a sec to realize what you were talking about.

You would be surprised how much there actually IS to see if you take time to stop and smell the roses or at least look up or down or to your left or right. WDW Disney parks have so many hidden treasures that it would literlly take 6 months to a year to see them all.

But seriously DUDE, you sound like my parents. They think WDW is stupid and boring because they also visited AK in the first few years it was built. Then again, they dont comprehend that AK is only one part of a very large park..cant tell them otherwise.. Well, it wasnt and still isnt really finished being built so of course it didnt seem very exciting then. I challenge you to go back now and see the difference. Attractions do occasionally glitch especially new ones till they get all the bugs out persay>>>HMMM...wonder if Tough to be a Bug got all their bugs out yet? :D:
