Rude guests and their cell phones...

Maybe it's because of the recent innovation in cheap or free roaming or maybe it's because the Gainesville crowd was having Spring Break, but this year I noticed (I'm a guest, not a worker) a hell of a lot of people with cell phones glued to their ears WHILE IN LINE and ON THE RIDES. Yup, people talking idiotic stupidity while riding on an attraction at Disney World.
Is this something I haven't really noticed before, is it increasing or was it just that particular day? Whatever the reason, it's annoying for a lot of reasons and I hope that WDW puts some limits on cell phone usage in the park.
Maybe I'm just being an ass, but for some reason, it pissed me off.

It's definitely getting more common. My favorite was the idiot girl in front of me who talked on her cell the whole time we rode Mummy at USF. Mind you, it's partially a roller coaster so I was waiting for that phone to go flying. And she was screaming into it in order to be heard over the special effects.

I know I prefer to conduct business while pirates are shouting "We wants the red head!" in the background.

Hey, if the people they are speaking to are THAT important, why didn't they go to Disney with them?!!!!!!

How quickly would a guest be murdered if they decided to field a call on Nemo after waiting God knows how many hours?

I can understand that maybe they're bored in line and shooting the shit, but STILL. You're with your KIDS or family for crying out loud. Talk with them, make plans, look around, chat with the people beside you in line. It's anti-social, loud and rude to talk on your cell phone in a crowded line. I'm glad I'm not the only one hating on this.
I just have this memory of this lady with this know-it-all expression jabbering stupidly in the Dumbo lineup, swatting her hands at her kids to get them to stop pestering her. Lesson #12 in "How to Ruin Your Kids Trip to Disney World". (btw, she spent an honest 15 minutes on that phone and only hung up when they physically boarded the elephant).

Well, I wouldn't feel so pissed if they were at least talking about being there ("YES, UNCLE JAKE, WE'RE IN LINE. YES! YES! DISNEY WORLD! D-I-S-N-E-Y W-O-R-L-D!! YES! IT'S GREAT!! THE KIDS ARE SO HAPPY!" etc.) but no, it's all about real-world inanities that I can't even believe someone would be interested in talking about even during the most boring of times. The best is seeing someone with the phone glued to their ear and only saying "yes", "ahm" and "sure" once in a while. Unless it's phone sex, what is so GD IMPORTANT?

Ok, I get why you're mad if people are ignoring their party or whatever, and there's no excuse AT ALL for being on the phone IN a ride or show, (or even preshow) but what's wrong with calling someone from a queue if you've got nothing better to do while waiting? Not everyone is there with kids to look after. If you haven't got a party of your own, or if your party are your adult friends who are talking to one another, or taking the opportunity to call home to their respective families, what's the big deal? It's not hurting anyone, and not causing any more noise than if you were talking to your party, should you have one... I'm confused on this one.
