I realize that circumstances have really put a damper on the mood tonight, but maybe this will lift everyone's spirits :D: :
Report: Royal Caribbean bans complaining couple for life
Talk about a company with backbone, eh? Wish a certain other company I know had it ;) .

I agree, good for RCL!
I don't get why they would continue to complain, even after being compensated? guess they fit the true SG profile!

Read the blog report from USA Today. Good for Royal Caribbean. RC just earned some respect in my book.
I hope those SG's stay away from Holland America and Disney Cruise Line.

This is the first article I've read tonight, what circumstances are being referred to?

The couple (actually the wife) kept posting negative reviews about the cruises they took on Royal Caribbean. Go to the link on the article and there is a link to cruisecritic.com where the reviews are posted.
On one cruise, there was a sewage spill in their cabin and they were unable to move to another room because the ship was full. (Though I wonder if they didn't want to downgrade to a inside stateroom.) They were given a 20 percent off their next cruise with RCL plus an additional $500 off. I would say that was pretty generous of the cruise line.
She also complained about various trivial things like the boarding process didn't go smoothly, the wine wasn't the right type, etc.
In the reviews the couple mentions they were part of a VIP club that RCL offers. They got a different gift every night of their stay, such as a beach towel or a collapsible wheeled duffel. That floored me. On my cruise with Holland America, the only gift we received was a cotton tote bag. (Really nice-great for library books.) A wheeled duffel that was probably similar to the RCL one cost $30 on Holland America.
There is a fine line between a legitimate complaint and abuse of the system.

I'm reading their complaint now, and all I can say is good riddance to bad rubbish!
NWA flew us from CLE-Vancouver via DTW. 4.5 hour flight with food that must be purchased, beverages by the glass not the can, even peanuts are $2 a bag
............................................................................
Other Group Cruises, a gift was on the bed each night, but this cruise we got only 6 - DVD zipper case, a compass that is a clock also, pens that light up & unscrew to be a light, tote bag with Royal Caribbean scarf, backpack looking item that is actually a duffel bag with a Royal Caribbean scarf in it & what resembled a bench seat that actually the felt blanket pulls out to be a waterproof Royal Caribbean poncho which we used in 4 rainy days at ports.
............................................................................
We are Diamond members and on other Member Cruises we had FREE Seattle's Best Specialty coffees (Latte, Espresso, Cappuccino as well as regular & decaf) but not this one. The Concierge Lounge is now for Suite Guests only. We have a Diamond Lounge which past Member Cruises had the machine with china cups & plates for continental breakfast for all Diamond & Diamond Plus to enjoy. This Diamond Lounge on Radiance had a plastic push button coffee server with paper cups & milk on ice.
Give me a break. Let's see in this one post they complained about:
-Actually having to pay for food on a flight.
-
Only getting six free gifts
-A special lounge that has paper cups instead of china!
Admittedly the sewage complaint seems valid, but I'm not sure after reading the rest that it wasn't blown out of proportion. I wonder how long it will take them to get banned from Norwegian.

I will add that as I'm reading several other reviews, the lady comes across as a complete snob. In one (actually a positive review) she waxes eloquent about all the free stuff because she is a diamond member and how it was so different on other cruise lines. How dare other cruise lines not give her stuck up butt free drinks (must not be served on trays) and expensive gifts?
Apparently buffets are not good enough for them. There are more complaints that the FREE (her capitalization) coffee is not Seattle's Best and is served in paper cups instead of china. More bragging about how they get free gifts every night because they are special.

Apparently free cookies as a gift are a disappointment. It's BS that they have to wear a lifevest to snorkel. Apparently cruise lines don't have the right to keep their guests safe. Also a nice complaint that they did not get $200 since the computer stook awhile to book their next cruise. More complaints about a fruit bowl that was supposed to be a fruit basket (free mind you). Did I mention all the FREE stuff she gets? To be fair, there is also plenty of positive mixed in, but the lady comes across as a whiner and a complete snob.

There are some people in this world that you cannot please no matter what you do.
Free stuff, propper reply to free stuff is "thank you". We were thrilled when we stayed at Paradise Pier and there were free Mickey Rice Crispy treats in the room.
She does really sound like a snob with the china thing, sounds like my ex wife, never quite good enough.
Sewer backed up? courtesy flush.......................
You are all lucky they are cruise people and not theme park people or they would have AP's and you would all have to deal with them all the time.
