A question for friends of characters

My 7 year old just gave me a picture she would like to give to Mickey when we're at the World next week. What is the proper procedure for this? Would it be best for me to talk her out of it or is it better to take it to Town hall and let the CMs there "deliver" it?

I can see how it might be hard for Mickey or even the character helper to hold on to something like that, so any insight is greatly appreciated.

I am not a CM but I would guess this would be handled the same way as letters to Santa. Child gives it to mom or dad and they "deliver" it.

There shouldn't be any problem if she wants to give it to Mickey.

Here at the DLR, Japanese tourists always bring gifts for the characters - it's a cultural thing, I believe. There's never been a problem with it, as far as I can tell.

And I am here!! :D:

It is not a problem to give gifts/pictures/ect to the characters, so just go right ahead! :)

Great! Thanks Joanna. I didn't want to cause any issues over something so small. :)

Oh it wouldn't cause any issues. Most of the characters I know were thrilled with receiving things. :)

As a friend of the character, I love it when kids give me stuff. I still have a little Pooh bear a girl gave Minnie. Most of the times pictures end up on the walls of the greenroms, it's always a pleasure to see. There's no problem with it whatsoever, we are allowed to accept small gifts of little to no monetary value. It's only when people try to give us straight up cash or something expensive that there can be an issue (and I have neer had that happen).

Gold bullion is out of the question.

This spring I made the switch from inside to outside the character world as an attendant. I have been happy to hold a picture or small gift for my friend while they continued to greet our guests. As EB said, pictures are posted in the break room and are a pleasure to see. If it makes your child happy, then by all means encourage them. And if you do not happen to see the gift's intended recipient, City Hall would be happy to see it delivered.

I would be happy to accommodate this gift - provided I receive a courier fee!
