I dont care if your a AP holder...

God I am so tired of AP holders (not all of them) thinking they know everything past, present and future about WDW.
From board X I was talking about Fast Pass tips and I get the following PM:
Hi
I'm an annual passholder that lives 2 hours away. Saving places, cutting, or catching up is all the same thing and people flat out don't like it.
Just a little in site. we were talking about having one person from the group go get FP while the rest of the group gets in line and the "runner" catches up in a few mins.
Anyway, what the heck does being a AP holder have to do with anything?

Because if you have an AP, you own the place! Come on! I pay all your wages, am the most important person there, know more than you do, and...um...know everything about Disney that could ever be known! Way to make insulting generalizations about APs, some of us actually do know everything. Oh, and if I want to be at the front of the line, of course I can meet up with my family an hour later. Just don't try and cut in front of me in line!

I will agree that SOME APs have holier than thou syndrome. I had an AP ream out a cm because he said she wasn't merging the proper ratio of FP to Standby. Last I checked we were the ones trained on the attraction so we know what to do. It just so happened that FP was backed up and a coordinator had told us to change the ratio. As for your plan, I don't think that is too bad. It just depends on the attraction you are joining them in line for. Some guests are kind of persnickety about letting someone join their party ahead of them. I never had a problem unless it was like 20 people. One person won't make a hell of difference and it is not worth creating an argument out of nothing.

That's the point I was trying to make to them. if it is ONE person trying to catch up, then it's all good. But if 4-5 people. I say tuff luck.

No, his AP doesn't have anything to do with anything, BUT, to me what you are describing is SG behavior. Technically, the entire party must be together when you enter the line, it is line cutting, and frankly, it is rude. By the time the person gets there they may have to cut through many people, and those queues were not made to accommodate that type of behavior. The group can ride a ride while that person is getting the FP, or go to a store.
At WoF, that could get you kicked out of the park as that is considered line jumping. I love that attitude as I only witnessed one case of attempted line jumping, at WDW it is rampant because people have this attitude and it spirals out of control. No dice.

For a group to go ahead in line while
ONE person gets FP's that
ONE person is not going to disrupt the line. and don't start with that what if one person from 10 groups did that. With the number of groups that send one person in line then 10 people show up later trying to catch up. The point of FP is to make your waits shorter, and this is just way of doing that.
Whats the difference in this vs. a family with a child that has to use the restroom, and one parent leaves the line and catches up later? Nothing wrong with that either.
And to let you in on the difference. Line jumping is if a person or persons were claiming they were catching up and it not be true. That's cheating.

And to let you in on the difference.
There is no need to talk down to me. I am giving you WoF's definition of Line Jumping. Take your children to the bathroom
before you get in line. If thirty minutes into an hour and a half line your child has to go again, that is different than purposefully cutting, and for some attractions it
can make a difference. For example: at some of my old attractions we do not have Flik, we have to eyeball the line and estimate the wait time accordingly. This does not work if peopel keep "catching up" with their parties. It is rude to the guests who were responsible and considerate enough to keep their families together who you then have to climb over. It is rude to the guests like Bru who use wheelchairs and then have to deal with you climbing all over them (read her incident report for just such an incident).
It does not take that long to get a FP that your family cannot wait for you, unless you are on the other side of the park, and then by the time you get there you are cutting through many people. By curbing this behavior it is harder for others to claim their party is ahead and line jump, and it can stop fights. I have seen guests get into fairly heated arguments over this behavior, and it can become dangerous. Case in point, the recent beating at the Teacups ride resulted from a very similar situation. There is nothing you can say to convince me that this acceptable behavior.

I guess you'd better avoid Six Flags. Here is their official policy:
No line-jumping or place holding
No "unruly, disruptive or offensive behavior"
Gotta wear shirts and "appropriate" shoes.
No clothes with "rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics."
Swimsuits in the water park only
Any of those offenses will get you kicked out of the park.

Funny, Knott's has the same thing, but I have never seen them actually enforce it. Though somebody, while I still worked there, told me this lady was staying at a local motel, had one of these next-to-nothing thong swimsuits on, and tried to enter the park through the Western Entrance, thinking it was okay! She was told sorry, but that's not appropriate attire. I think she went back to the motel to change.
