Mickey's got a gun?

I heard about this on the radio earlier today... and maybe someone in Florda can shed some more light on it... but apparently there's a bill that passed the Florida Senate saying that employees should have the right to bring a hand gun to work, whether or not their employer wants them too...
Fla. lawmakers OK take-your-guns-to-work law
Now, I don't want to start a gun debate here, who can own them or whatever, but the DJ's were pretty keen to point out that since Disney World is in Florida... this would mean, that as the DJ put it: "Mickey could be packing heat."
So... if this happens... does this mean SGs can be shot on sight?

ETA: Whoops... Upon reading the article more carefully.... it says employees would still have to leave the guns in their cars... a detail left out on the radio. I guess they were being sensationalist.
Maybe this should be deleted...

yep, you can carry one, but not on private property. i.e. Disney.
unless you have permission. Which Disney would never allow.
guns? they wouldn't even let me in with my tea bottle.

I not sure which is scarier, the fact that if it wasn't for some small stipulations that Mickey could be packing heat, or the fact that SGs would still try to weasel their way into character lines after the attendants have closed them knowing the character could be packing heat.
Although, "Mickey pulled a gun on me and ruined my vacation" wouldn't come too far after.

Basically the way the law is worded, and Governor Christ has said he will sign it, is that an employee who is legally allowed to be armed, including a concealed pistol license, is allowed to bring a firearm onto private property, even if the property owner does not want them to do this.
However, the weapon must be maintained in a locked vehicle and not visible from outside of the vehicle. In a situation such as WDW, if a CM were to bring a gun and it were kept locked in their car and out of sight, Disney could do nothing about it. The law still does not allow the person to actually bring the weapon into the work location itself.

Thus increasing the chance of a gun being stolen from a vehicle!!
Speaking as someone that can carry a weapon, I don't think that DLR OR WDW is the place for them!!!
