Contract Buses

I know we have some transportation CMs around here, so here's a question....
How often does Disney use contract charter buses for park to resort transportation?

Last time we were in the World (Easter 07) we had the displeasure of riding on a contract bus. The thing smelled like it had just been fumigated, the dead bugs were still piled up on the floors, the guy went on for what seemed like hours (Epcot to POP) about where to buy the best Disney stuff for the lowest prices off disney property among other things.

I'd rather travel with the excellent Disney CMs than some dude with his bug bomb bus!!!

I can't say about the bus contract, but if he was giving an off-site spiel for shopping, I would make sure that someone from WDW was aware that they were trying to undercut the shopping experience at WDW! (probably getting some sort of kickback!)

Contract buses are used when management decides that Disney does not have enough buses to handle the crowds. It is usually during times like Xmas to New Year, Easter, Spring break, etc.

IMHO, many times we could do without them, all it would take is for management to actually use the Disney fleet properly (and for them to get out of their offices and into the field)
