Is this a SCMT???

I came across this recently and was wondering if this would be considered a stupid CM trick???

Once a year my old highschool sends out an alumni newsletter -- basically a brag session of the great accomplishments the alumni have done. Here is one of the postings, I will remove the name for privacy purposes:

"*********, class of ****, is working in Disney World in Orlando, FL, as the character Aladdin. He has completed "fur training" with a group of students and has been Tigger, Gepetto from Pinocchio, and Big Al the Bear. He was individually trained as an Aladdin Look-A-Like and was cast in the show, Fantasmic."

My question - I always thought this kind of information was not allowed to be published, that you can say you are a good friend of a certain character, but not to announce that you are playing someone in particular?

IMHO this shouldn't have been published...

That gets to me as the guy used his own name and let out all that info that he knows (or should know better) should nit be released! I'm a Friend too, but to announce it like that, It's an obvious big fat NO NO NO!

Comes down to someone not having the proper respect for what his job is to those who come to see his friend.

And there is also the danger that someone will let "casting" or some manager know about it, could be very bad for the carreer.

If it's anything like newspaper interviews I've had/observed it's quite likely that he got little or no say in what was written - yes, he should have taken more care in what he said to the interviewer, but it is quite likely that the author of the newsletter may have disregarded disney-speak used in the interview without realising that it may get the guy into trouble.

Or on the other hand the guy could just have been dumb.

There is no interview for the newsletter, you need to write a letter to the school with whatever information you want posted. So he himself sent all this information to the newsletter, which was why I found it so appalling. (I personally have never written anything in the newsletter, my goal is to be put on the "lost alumni" list lol)

Ah, fair enough. He's just stupid then.

Well then, he needs to be careful or he will "stupid" himself out of a job, judging by some of the CM's comments here about managements view of such things!
