Trip report

So I now have time for a trip report, again, thank you for doing such a great job. I had a blast. I left from work in Davis about 2:00 Wens, got about half way there and my GF called me in tears, her car broke down in traffic and people were honking at her. I asked if she wanted me to come home but she said no, got the car towed to the shop I work at, it was the timing belt and they had it done by friday. I missed rush hour, got checked in, fired up my laptop and it took a crap on me so I have to try to find out whats wrong with it.

Got to the parks Thursday at opening and did a bunch of stuff, even went over to DCA and saw aladdin twice and Turtle talk a few times. If you all havent had a chance to see the spinning thing in the Pixar display it is very cool, go by and see it. I cant remember what its called but a CM from here I met up with told me.

Friday when I got to the parks I went into the Emporium until the train arrived and rode over to NO station, I was the first person on HM that morning and the CM's were great, it was cool being in the stretch room by myself, the CM in the stretch room never left character even though I was the only one there. I rode 3 times but only got off twice which was cool. A CM on buzz reconized me from the day before and we chatted quite a bit, he was off for his first trip to WDW in a couple of months. I stopped by city hall and passed on some compliments on my way to DCA.

Also saw the new Pixar parade, I liked it but every time I took a picture I got hosed down. I think I like the bubble idea over the water.

Overall I saw Alladin 4 times and Turtle talk about 10, cant count how many times I rode buzz and HM. Was a little disapointed the new monorails were not running but hopefully next time.

Overall the crowds were not bad and the SG's were well behaved. Really only two that stand out. First one was Thursday, parked in Pinoccio and I was heading for the trams, theres a walkway between the large vehicle and car parking areas, its just painted on the ground. There was a tram parked along the walkway and everyone was heading or the tram station, except one family who hopped on the tram that was parked. They just settled in when a CM spotted them and told them the tram was not in service. (go figure, motor not running, light not rotating, no CM's around, everyone else walking past) I do have to give dad some credit for having a sense of humor, I heard him yell back to the CM "what, we dont get our own private tram today?".

The second one, well this will get all of you cause you have SG's, strollers and ECV's all at one time. I was in Adventureland near the planter in front of JC when I heard this lady yell "O my god" in terror. I turned around and in the entrance to one of the shops a very, very large man on an ECV had the whole front end of the thing parked on a stroller, with a kid in it. Now you would think, that even as fat as this guy was he would get off the ECV and get it off the stoller, but nope, he puts it in backwards and drives it off the stoller to the sound of much breaking plastic. I stood and watched for a few and the kid wasnt even crying so it seemed OK, the lady was chewin the guy a new one and another guy came along and did a lot of arm waving and pointing, mostly at the lady. One of the sweeper CM's saw the camotion and came over and checked on them, I saw her look closely at the kid and after a minute or two she left so I figured no harm had come.

Saturday I was heading back to the motel about 9:30 and it rained a little, the fireworks were canceled, in fact they were canceled all 3 nights due to wind, then I found out later that the Electrical parade was also canceled so everyone was heading out of both parks at once. It was a madhouse at the tram station so I spent more money, my GF said bring her hoem some dish's so I got some of those plastic platesd shaped like Mickeys head, i think she was wanting something in fine china but I like them and so does her kid. At the P lot they had the trams lined up 3 or 4 deep to unload, Really have to give credit to the parking/trans CM's for keeping order under those conditions. The drive home was way to long but it was worth the trip. Dont know if Ill make it down before August at this point, if they do a AP preview on a weekend of the new Toy story mania ride I might make a one day trip down for that (yes, any excuse to go).

I'm getting excited about WDW, got my plane tickets and I'm all booked, just have to pay the balance, I'll be arriving Oct 30th and staying until Nov 8th at Pop.

Except there, its always the fault of Disney for not providing special access to all people all the time! Glad the kid was okay.

very interesting report and thanks.

Some people are that way, they did nothing wrong and do not care about others. I am glad to see that the CMs at DLR are still outstanding.

It's a Zoetrope (I think I spelled it right)

And just so you know, your compliments did get through. Since I'm a lead, I get weekly reports with all the compliments/concerns and I just read those two on the report I got yesterday.
