Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

True, we get the snowbirds here in winter, and you can pick out the "fishbelly" legs of the tourists (and several years old shorts and light weight shirts) (oh and sandal's with socks!)hobie16 wrote:We can pick out the Mainlanders by their either pasty white or glowing red skin and the way they pronounce Hawaiian names.

When I was in college, we had quite a few students from Oregon; they were easy to spot with their amusing habit of wearing socks with their sandals.

Have never heard the above expression. In NORCAL (Gold Country) they say; "It's colder than a well digger's a**. Thought the saying was so funny. When I first saw snow in Grass Valley, Ca. I realized how close to truth the statement was / is. I HATE snow!!!Princess Susi wrote:it is buttcheek cold

How about, "It's cold enough to freeze the nuts off of a steel bridge."

Wouldn't that be "'cause they talk funny"?BRWombat wrote:We can pick out non-Texans because they talk funny. ;)
I am sure if you told me the color of their socks, I could tell you what part of Oregon they were from. And their sandals were not sandals, they were Birkenstocks. They might get offended at you calling their fancy sandals "sandals". Granted, I do have a pair, but only because they really are fairly comfortable. I'm pretty sure I am the only person in Florida with a pair, except maybe Whazzup.felinefan wrote:When I was in college, we had quite a few students from Oregon; they were easy to spot with their amusing habit of wearing socks with their sandals.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
