Stupid Guest Tricks

It's been the snowiest winter in history (apparently). We are coming to WDW next Sunday (16th)...kids STILL don't know...soooo proud of myself!!!
I think everything is all planned...you know you can't leave anything to chance at DW, or you won't have a semi-relaxing vaca.

HOW'S THE WEATHER BEEN? HOW'S IT GOING TO BE????? :)

Better than here and I'm in NW Florida! I HATE the cold with a passion. and it dips to low at night for my liking around here sometimes.

Looks like mid to upper 60s and sunny skies tomorrow.

No snow within 100s of miles. :) Then again, if it snowed down there I'd be scared.

I've seen it snow most every night on New York St. at the studios and on select nights on Main St. every December. And there is evidence that it snowed heavy enough to cause a ski resort to be built (Blizzard Beach). So it is obvious that Snow isn't that rare at WDW. ;) :D: :twisted:

It is March so there is no snow on Main Street or New York Street and Blizzard Beach is closed for refurb so I didn't mention it either.

The snowfall that created Blizzard Beach is one of those snows that would scare me.

Shorty, were you here when we had snow in March? I can't remember what year it was - maybe 1988 or 1989. Were you even born yet?? ;)

We were camping up at the Coldwater Horse Stables during our annual competitive trail ride and when we woke up the ground was covered with snow! The azaleas were blooming and it was so pretty with all the pink and purple blossoms against that white background. Some of the local horses had never seen snow before - it was fun watching them snort and buck and run around through the white stuff.

By mid-day the snow had turned to icy slush and it was a muddy mess. I was pulling a horse trailer on the dirt roads and got stuck and had to be towed out. Luckily my old truck had a heavy duty winch on the front.
The scariest thing was coming down the highway, headed for a bridge over a creek, and noticing at the last minute that the bridge had ice on it. I was able to break just in time to creep over the bridge. If I had hit it at full speed I might have gone sliding, horse trailer and all. We Floridians aren't used to driving in ice and snow!

I sorta remember that. I remember going up to some old school or something in Allentown or somewhere north of Milton and playing in the snow with my aunt and brother.

That's about the only time I've ever actually seen real snow. It might snow around here occasionally but it always melts as soon as it hits the ground.

I don't think anybody knows how to truly drive in snow, I've heard numerous of times of the idiots up north who seem to forget how to drive as soon as snow starts falling.

The first snow that sticks each year there will be those who have trouble. First all those new drivers or just moved in folk who have no experience with snow and ice. And some people seem to forget that snow and ice can be slippery (SGs obviously). And of course we also have those people on the highway who are in such a hurry that they decide they MUST drive twice the speed limit no matter what. These are the same ones who encounter a thick fog and decide that cops can't see them so they floor it. Or they stick to the regular speed but drive close enough to the car infront of them that they can see it. Then someone infront of the crowd has a problem and a 30 or 50 car pileup happens. It's amazing how often you hear an interview of some SG who explains they just couldn't see the pileup before they slammed into it and couldn't understand why. Gee, 70mph in a fog with visibility of 50' might have something to do with it. :twisted:

That's what caused that huge pileup on I-4 in Orlando a while back. Thick fog and possibly smoke and idiots still going speed limit or faster even though they couldn't see in front of them that far.

We get the same effect in California, when it lightly rains, the morons think that can stop in the same distance as dry pavement!
