Stupid Guest Tricks

OK - a friend and I, after a particularly rough evening in City Hall, had the most therapeutic conversation ever. It was so much fun, in a very sick way, that I thought I'd pose the question here to see what you all come up with.

When you finally can't take any more, when the stupid guests have pushed you over the edge, what would be the most fun, creative, or therapeutic way to get yourself fired?

For the sake of conversation, assume there will be no legal action taken against you, and you don't have things like future employment to worry about. And remember, it's obvious we'd never actually DO any of these things, but imagining yourself doing them is a good way to blow off some steam.

So let's have some suggestions! Would you dress up like an indian and attack a passing canoe? Would you sneak in during the night and cut the brakes on all the ECVs? Would you set the animals in Circle D loose in the Big Thunder range? Get creative, people!

I might try to recruit a class of junior high school kids. Take them to the MK, sneak backstage to Character Costuming, and put them *all* in Mickeys. Then turn them loose in the Park with instructions not to let anybody catch them. I would then go up to the Tink platform in the castle (one of the few places I haven't been) and watch the fun.

Oooh this is a dangerous topic...
First of all I would give a stroller fighter a piece of my mind, then I would give a couple of managers a piece of my mind, then I would run over to Soarin' and give the attraction an intrusion, scare the pants off the CM in tower and the guests whose carriages stopped all of a sudden.

Either that or I would E-stop soarin' (something which is an automatic termination) just to see what would happen

The person I would have wanted to maim has left the company, so that is out. It may take a while to make a decision.

And, BTW, there are no brakes, as such, on the ECVs. It is involved with the electronics, and when you release the lever the ECV stops.

Since we are going down this road I would take a full train during the EPCOT exit and park it out at Rectofire 3. (the big staircase in the middle of no where) Then jump out and wave to the guests as I walk away.

I'd probably throw every stroller into the moat around the hub, E-Stop Philharmagic, run through the mansion in a cape, and set every firework off from the rooftops at once in the middle of the day just to see what it would look like :twisted:

Why is E-stopping Soarin' an automatic termination? I assume you mean if you E-stop it for no reason, not for an emergency. What's the penalty for E-stopping other attractions?

1. Soarin' is a very complex attraction and if anyone E-stops it for ANY reason other than a Ride stop failure then they would get terminated.
Ride Stop is a soft shut down. The carriages remain powered up and at the touch a button can be lowered to the ground.
An E-stop removes power from the carriages and is a hard shut down. To lower the carriages each individual carriage must be powered down and back up and returned to load. It is a MAJOR process and requires two people and maint. to do.
The only reason they have an E-stop is because it is required by law. It is never used, only ride stops.
(Sad how much I know about Soarin' and I don't even work there...Sigh)
2. A theater show can be e-stopped. At the panels there are buttons that say show stop. Recovering from a show stop requires maintenance and lots of time and it is almost never done.

Accidental E-stops happen every once in a while. A CM was at video monitor and went to sit in the chair and it slid out from under him. On the way down he hit the E-stop and scared the crap out of me! He called me, told me what happened, I called a coordinator, got approval to power down and back up, and we continued on our merry way making a note of it in the downtime log. To do a ride stop on Soarin' without reason would probably cost you your job, or give you a reprimand. It would throw a major wrench in the operation and require the carriages to be returned to load, re-enabled, and re-dispatched. Thoroughly pissing off all of the people grouped for the next flight.

If it is by accident, this it's a written warning and probably a suspension. If it was on purpose, with no real reason, then is an automatic termination.

An E - Stop is just a show stop, it turns off the show and goes black. Trust me, I did it once before at HISTA, on accident, mind you and still got a written warning for it. :D

Well, being a former Knott's employee, I would shut off all the water and power from the whole park, cut all seatbelts and shoulder harnesses on all rides, put piranhas in the the pools over at Soak City, and burn down Ghostrider. Mind you, I would do this only after dark, on a moonless night.

Conversely, I'd shut off all the power in the park during Haunt, and let the guests rip the place to shreds. Good thing they don't run the train during Haunt. Anybody who went near it with the intention of damaging it would be shot on sight.

Oh, I forgot, though Chicken Dinner Restaurant already has a major roach problem, I'd send millions of the little buggers, plus some rats and mice. And I don't mean the cute, little pet-sized ones, either. I hear that Knott's got some of that tainted meat that was in the news recently. Why am I not surprised?
