Here's a link to my trip report. I'm going to try to keep that blog updated with my progress towards getting to WDW permanently.
Hope you enjoy!

It was luck. I just happened to look out the window at the right time and saw it. The picture would have been better but it took me a second to think about grabbing my camera, deciding to actually take the picture though we haven't been cleared to use electronic devices, and to actually get my camera from my backpack.Big Wallaby wrote:Wow, you saw that Mickey in person. Very cool. I've only seen the satellite image on Google Earth. It's about 5 miles away.
EDIT: If you zoom in and follow Hwy 27 up from where it is near WDW, you can't miss it. it's honkin' huge! Look for Lake Louisa to the west of 27.
It's because I didn't go into as much detail as you nor did I do as much as you. I people watched a whole lot and that makes for a boring trip report.BRWombat wrote:Cool report, Shorty! (How do you fit several days into one posts? :D :)

Neither had I. That's why the picture has it going behind the plane, I was delayed getting the picture as I wasn't ready for it. I knew it was huge but thanks for putting into scale for me, it is bigger than I thought.I'd never known about that Mickey before! No kidding it's big -- it would cover most of the Magic Kingdom! According to the measuring tool on Google Earth, from ear to ear (including the dirt outline) is 2048 feet, which is a little greater than the distance from the base of Splash Mountain to the entrance of Space Mountain!![]()
I was only under the weather for about 1 1/4-1 1/2 days. The good thing was that the one full day was not a Disney day. Still to long but could have been worse. I'm doing better from the second bout of sickness but am still coughing some. The cough drops I got have helped a lot.February wrote:Sorry to hear you spent so much of your trip under the weather Shorty. . .but look at it this way you knocked the audition out of the park and you'll have many many happy WDW days ahead in your future on and off the clock!
Incidentally I've never seen the Singing' in the Rain umbrella! I'll have to look for that next time we're at the studios. I love little more than hobbling out of my wheelchair, leaning against a light post and belting out a little bit of a tune (I've been known to do this at the UK pavilion in Epcot. Yes, there are pictures somewhere. . .)
Thanks so much! I should be able to get out at least a couple notes from the song before my husband triggers the downpour on me LOL :D: One of my goals for our upcoming trip is to spend as much time as we can interacting with Streetmosphere. We got rained out on our Studios day last trip and missed the opportunity and we really were sad about it.Shorty82 wrote:
The umbrella is on the Streets of America and if I recall correctly on the last side street to the left before you get to "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show". You can hobble out of your chair, hold onto the umbrella (it's firmly mounted and not going anywhere), and get somebody to trigger the sensor in the sidewalk if you are unable to start the "rain" yourself.
