Stupid Guest Tricks

So I recently found this nametag from WDW. How exactly does one become the cast member of the month? I would think that with the thousands of cast members at WDW, this would be a singular honor. Can anyone tell me more about this? Do they even do it anymore?

This is obviously very old. Either that or totally fraud. Note that it is a straight oval without the identifying bump on top.

I know they used to have special nametags for people who won the "Spirit of Disney" award, which was the predecessor to the "Partners in Excellence" program. Those nametags looked like the regular ones except were silver in color and along the bottom said "Spirit of Disney"

Judy had traded pins and buttons over the years with Ray, the original Mayor of Main Street. Shortly before he retired we ran across him in MK and were having a long chat with him. He pulled a spare nametag out of his pocket and gave it to Judy as a gift.

Actually I think the older Disney Nametags were that oval shape. Though I've never heard of CM of the month.

Where I work the "Circle Of Excellence" Team picks people after people put nominations in a locked box with a slit in the top and then see who has the most votes. One time the people picked a guy who does dishes and suggested him for another month to others who hadn't yet made up their minds.

Since then others have been chosen as well. The "Cast Member of the Month" has their photo taken and some of the nominators comments posted as well...
