These were in a Rumors forum where someone had said that
We went to the World in Dec. on our annual family trip, and while we were on our way to MK, our bus driver announced that Disney is planning on adding 5 new thrill rides at the Hollywood Studios over the next 10 years!

Responding. Not advising others to do so... I would almost say please don't. I will answer it in six words that need no other explanation.

Okay, came out to more than six, and they were rather heated. But since my title over there is "Magical Bus Driver" as put in by one of their mods, then I guess that says what it needs to.

Sorry, I had to respond. It was civil but to the point.

No mention of SGT either. (other than the BW reference)

I might just have taken it over the top. Got on this morning to see how people responded, but the ones in that thread really are SG's at their finest. I posted something this morning, and someone responds with "Wow, someone got up on the wrong side of the safari vehicle!" There is no reasoning with them. C'mon, just admit that you're lumping people together in a way that is not deserved by all of them, that you're generalizing like crazy, and I'd be happy.

One of the reason's I stopped posting over there is that board is full of a bunch of a-holes. The cliques formed there are right out of high school, if you don't agree with the "popular" kids then you're basically an outcast.

Wallaby, you're smart for leaving :) PM me that other board you post on, I'm trying to do my best to keep a lower profile here since the main focus is really for the CM's and not a SG like myself :D:

That thread was just another shining example of why I stopped reading any other Disney board, but this one. The typical egotistical attitude of everthing I say is always right and even if you can fully prove that I'm wrong, I'm just going to call you a liar or not even respond to make it seem like I've never read what you wrote in the first place. (Of course that may be a little biased sounding due to my profession and the extreme dynamic state of the atmosphere).

BW, I think your response was a fantastic and polite way of telling people to f-off. The "Wow, someone got up on the wrong side of the safari vehicle!" comment was just someone trying to stir you up and I think you handled it remarkably by not jumping down that person's throat (if only we could do it literally through the computer screen). That is why you are a shining star of a cast member that Walt would be proud of.

I saw a doozie on there yesterday afternoon. This person is a Mod (no its not Chessy :D :) , has been a member for over 7 years, and has an exteremly huge post count. He/she didn't know what Discovery Island(the original), ok no prob, not everyone does. Apparantly someone they knew had taken one of the little speedboats for a cruise on the lake from FW and saw a dock. Alright, no big there.

After a few folk had explained what it was, came the OMG moment. He/she proceeds to post, "well I hope they dont sell the island, it would be a shame if they did" (not exact but you get the drift) Kinda to the effect that if someone from an outside company bought it, it wouldnt be good. I was like, ummmmm, "did you lose your light bulb?" The THING IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A LAKE OWNED BY DISNEY. It was one of those moments where I have no words to describe how DUH! that comment is.

SIGH, makes me so want to post over there, I would be getting points left and right for some of the ding dongs that have been on lately.

It's so nice to be “home” at SGT.

I attempted posting on such a board, albeit over something stupid, and all it did was make me angry. I constructed beautiful prose, used sound logic, and offered useful suggestions. But it did no good. I was in disbelief. "Are these people for real?"

What does it mean when people like yourselves that have invested so much of themselves into Walt Disney don’t feel welcome or valued at the so called “fan sites”? Are there really any bigger (or more knowledgeable) “fans” of what the company is and what we all aspire for it to be?

Thanks for putting yourselves out there, even though there is no reward. I had a veteran manager once that minimized the time he spent speaking with guests. It used to bother me, but now I understand exactly what it was that he grew tired of: there is no way to make these Guests listen to what we’re actually saying, instead of what they think we’re saying. They assume we live in a vacuum while they are the ones with their eyes wide open.

If only they could see the other side, they might see the whole picture.

But then again, where’s the fun in that?

I had to go back for a parting shot. I know, I'm a glutton for punishment.

Actually, I had to stand up for BW.

I must say I'm sorry as well, but I could not simply bite my tongue. I know BW doesn't -need- defending, but he deserves it.
