Cast ID Card Problems

Officially Monday (Jan 7) was the absolute deadline for putting the 2008 stickers on ID cards. These were sent out in November to everyone whose ID was issued before November and who has a permanent (not white) ID. Going into the Wardrobe Building (at DHS) they were looking closely at the IDs. We were told that if we were on the Pass Gate to be very careful.
Anyway, three stories; one from last week, one from yesterday, and one from today.
Last week I had a CM come up trying to use a 2007 Blue MGP and I noticed he had a white ID with a 12/5/07 expiration date. He was not happy when I would not let him and his friends in and was not polite to me. He ended up even unhappier when I took his ID and turned it in to the coordinator, who said he was going to turn it in to the Manager and from there probably to Security.

Next concerned yesterday. I was not working, but I was told this by two sources (one was directly involved). A woman came up to the Pass Gate, and not only did she not have the 2008 sticker, she did not have the 2007 sticker either. From what I understand she got nasty to the Greeter. Now, at the Studio, the Pass Gate is at the end near Lost and Found. That is also where the Coordinator's Podium is. The Security Office and Break Room is behind Lost and Found. So the Greeter had the Coordinator come over, and this woman got nasty to the Coordinator. He, of course had his radio, and all of a sudden there were a couple of Security Officers and a Security Supervisor. I'm not sure of the final result, but the woman did not get into the park.

Then this morning's problem. I was at the Pass Gate and a suit-type woman wearing a nametag and badgeholder lanyard who is inside the park asks if I will let her out my gate so she can meet some friends, which I do. There was a group of about eight people; some with tickets and others she was going to let in using her Silver MGP. She comes up to me, hands me her ID and Silver Pass, and I tell her I can't allow it as she does not have the 2008 sticker. She asks (politely) what can be done. I tell her she will probably have to go over to the ID Issue Office at Disney University to get a sticker.
Turns out there was a secondary problem; she had parked in the garage at the back entrance and since her ID was expired I could not even allow her into the park herself. The Coordinator saw I had a problem and wandered over to observe; he did not say anything. I did suggest to her that she go over to Guest Relations and maybe a manager there would let her in so she could go to get her car. Anyway, I went on break after that and never found out what finally happened.

OH MY GOD....Chessy kicked out Meg Crofton. LOL Sorry, the suit thing made me think of it. Hopefully security escorted her to her car. Then again, probably not. At least she didnt get to let in the mega zillion ppl she wanted to.

I know, how hard was it to put the new stickers on our ID and Parking Pass AS SOON AS IT ARRIVED IN THE MAIL?!!! Duh!!!
Days before '08 started Security Guards were reminding people, "3 days left then you need your new stickers." Are these people children? We are all adults, we should all act like adults.

Agreed, that's what I would have done. As soon as it arrived I would have pulled out my ID and put the sticker on it. Take care of it right away so you don't have to worry about it later. Eventually I will work at WDW and have to do that. I'm the type that I'll probably be in the ID office at least a day or two early to replace my temp ID with my permanent one.

Only an idiot puts off that kind of thing, it isn't hard to go out to the car (or pull an ID out of the wallet) and put the new sticker on it. When I renewed my tag back in November I put the new sticker on as soon as I got home as I didn't drive my van to the tag office, if I had it would have been put on in the parking lot.

That's nothing, where I work, we actually have a problem with (hourly) people NOT turning in their time sheets.
The two supervisor are always calling and reminding people to turn them in.
When I was a supervisor here, I told everyone that I would not remind them and if they didn't get it in on time, they wouldn't get paid. It usually only took one time to get the point across.
Of course, that could also be part of the reason I'm no longer a supervisor..
