You hit a real soft spot with me...I LOVED the Chipmunks when I was but a little girl, still do as a matter of fact. I own an LP vinyl version of the "The Chipmunks Greatest Hits", OO-ee-oo-ah-ah... :) This is very CUTE!!!!!! I love it. Thanks for sharing drcorey! :) And who ARE you...hee hee hee you funny man!

On that album I told you about, "Stay Awake", Bonnie Raitt does a phenomenal Baby Mine...You would love it! I just received my CD version in the mail from Amazon a day ago. I have the LP (in storage thanks to the evil stager who destroyed my life, j/k, but she DID put into storage almost everything we need on a holiday basis AND my record collection and I do still have two turntables here in the house, lotta good it does :( ) I needed the CD anyway due to the fact that you never want to wear out the vinyl by TOO many playings of it and that album does get listened to a LOT! I recommend it to all. Old classic Disney songs by the likes of Suzanne Vega doing "Stay Awake" from Mary Poppins, Tom Waits doing "Heigh Ho" ( He is one of my all time favorite singers EVER!),the aforementioned Bonnie Raitt, Harry Nillson doing "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah", The Replacements doing "Cruella de Ville", and Los Lobos doing "I wanna be like you" (monkey song from "Jungle Book") as well as many others. :)

There is another CD called "Simply Mad about the Mouse" and features Disney songs as sung by Bobby McFerrin; "The Siamese Cat Song" from "lady and the Tramp", Billy Joel; When You Wish Upon A Star :) , Ric Ocasek of The Cars fame; "Zip-A-DEE-DO-DAH", Harry Connick Jr; "The Bare Nessessities", L.L. Cool J; "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf", Soul II Soul; "Kiss THe Girl" from "Little Mermaid", Gipsy Kings; "I've Got No Strings" from "Pinnochio" and others as well. Highly recommended for any true Disney fan. These are marvelous renditions of some of our favorite songs and it does not get much better than a grammy award wining artist performing them. YOu can get both at Amazon. I imagine there may be more out there, and I have to look, but these are the two I listen to most, along with my official Park CDs and the Disney Greatest Hits Vol. 1-3. :D:
I would recommend everyone here get the two CDs cause you will just smile and laugh and sing along to some really great versions of these songs :D:
They are AWESOME!!!! Now I want to hear the Vocal Majority do a CD of Disney Songs, that would be a treat! Specially "Heigh-Ho" or is it "Heigh Ha" with the new PC rules in place... :hysteria:

I have a HUGE Disney CD collection. Have many of the ones you mention. A few additions to your list. "Heigh-Ho Mozart" and its sequel "Bibbity-Bobbity Bach" takes Disney songs and does them with a chamber orchestra in the style of various classical composers. And if you prefer Bluegrass try "Heigh-Ho Banjo" (not the best of the bunch but still interresting). Another of my favorites is an album (which I am spacing out on the title of at the moment) of all Disney music by Louie Armstrong. (pause while I open another window to check Amazon) Here it is. "Disney Songs the Satchmo Way".

Randy (the -maybe evil- twin) :D:

Next time you're down here, Randy, I expect that music to be playing around your tent to make it easier to find. Of course, I have to go looking for you on a day you're actually there... that tends to make you easier to find, too...

Just a trivia note for movie buffs and Chipmunks fans. Ross Bagdasarian, the singer/songwriter who created The Chipmunks, is seen in Hitchcock's Rear Window, as the Songwriter who lives in one of the apartments across from Jimmy Stewart's through most of the film. (Incidentally, Hitch's traditional cameo occurs in a scene with him, as Hitch is seen winding his clock in one scene.)

You are correct sir! The album was called "Twin Sons of Different Mothers" and featured Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisburg, an awesome album I might add.

I have it on vinyl away in storage..grrrrrrr I am going to get that stager yet! Everything, all of my good stuff, packed away til the house sells.

Gahhhhhhhhhhh...she did not know what she was doing. We have snow coming tomorrow and she packed ALL of our winter clothes after I told her to leave them in the storage room cause we probly would need them. She was here September of 2006 and just did not think to leave us things we would need if the house did not sell THE VERY NEXT DAY!!!!!!

ahem, I am better now....What were talking about, oh yeah albums that were put into storage.

I am going to have to do better with my next music trivia to stump Wombat, the music meister!!!!! :D:
