Sorry if this has been posted before but I came across a really unique E-bay auction...

I can't believe they are charging people for a flipping guide map, and did you check out that shipping cost??

Worse would be if somebody bought that...

Allrighty then.... I know they are hard to come by ahead of time unless you know someone that will pick you up one. But I agree that shipping is a hoot. Stick the thing in an envelope for 40Cents and be done with it. I especially love the shoe laces they have for buy it now at 1 whole penny. I didnt even want to look at the shipping on that for the fact that I didnt want to pee my pants laughing.

Hopefully, no one buys and he makes a loss on the listing.

Looking at his other items, his name should be "I'd sell my grandmother if I thought she'd go for a buck (plus $3 shipping and handling)"

Ooh, and these definitely go together:

What the f***?! Selling a damn license plate, and a normal one at that? Hell, it doesn't even appear to be in good shape and the orange is covered by a AAA sticker! There is NOTHING special about that plate, it is the standard Florida plate. I got one on my van and an old one in a shed! The one in the shed is in a lot better shape than the one he is trying to sell. The only person I could think of who would want to buy an expired plate is a collector and they would buy one that is in good shape, not a messed up one with a sticker on it.

The map is bad enough. Is that even an up-to-date map? The guy is trying to make a fast buck by selling worthless trash.

At least selling a map is better than selling expired Fastpasses (never did understand that one), re-entry passes, and GACs (Guest Assistance Cards).

I had noticed that earlier, now that you mention it. The current ones have a Finding Nemo theme, not Soarin'.

I had a feeling that Soarin' maps were old. Finding Nemo is the big new(er) thing at Epcot right now, not Soarin'. I guess Nemo was the big thing the last time the maps were updated. Nothing major has been changed at Epcot in a while so the maps haven't changed, Nemo has been on the maps since at least April, that's the date on my Epcot map which has Nemo on it.

If I wanted a map I would want the latest one. Maps are free and easy to get, all one has to do is ask someone they know in the area, or will be in the area, to send them one and I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrote them Guest Relations would send one. Disney will even send you personalized maps of the parks for free from the website, I have some around here somewhere I got just before my trip back in July.

If I wanted current WDW maps all I'd need to do is ask my brother or his wife, who are both seasonal CMs who live in the area (though neither have picked up any shifts lately) or my uncle who is a professional CM. Heck, probably any of the CMs here would send me some if I asked.

Also, maps can easily be viewed and printed online from any one of a hundred different places.

Also, maps are located so close to the front gates, I do not understand why you'd need one before you go into the parks.... especially a possibly outdated one at that. But then, people that haven't been to the World in ten years wouldn't know that that isn't the newest map.

Yep, this guy is definitely preying on the uninformed.

In the back of my mind, because he has so much old Disney stuff, I wonder if he's a CM that goes to Property Control for his stuff and then sells it. Or how about some of those books? Seeing the book about how to pleasure a woman next to the kids' praise songs book was just plain funny.

Anyone want this snake oil I just found? I'm selling it for fifty cents, and only $49.95 for shipping! 3 oz. bottle.

It is common on Ebay for people to sell at a low price then charge a lot for shipping and handling. A $12 item including shippiing is sold for $2 with $10 for shipping and handling so the seller avoids the fees on the item.

For a person who loves parks but cannot get to them it is something they would want. Not me as all I have to do is ask Wallaby.
