The Official Planning Thread of the Bubble Ladies 2008 WDW Tour

I've asked Elena and Elyse to please stay out of this thread, because if I can, I would like to possibly have some surprises for them. However, their computers are down for the upcoming days and possibly weeks :( , so I guess that won't be a problem for a bit.

So for those of you who haven't read anything else I've written here, here's what I would like to make happen: I want to bring the Bubble Ladies to Walt Disney World this February. They have never been here, and it's about time. To make this happen, I need to set in motion the following:
  • Airline tickets
  • Hotel Reservations (preferably at a Disney resort)
  • Food
  • Extra tours and fun
I plan to take care of park admission, although anyone else who wants to help with that is welcome to as well.

To make this happen, I will be putting some money into the project, and would like to invite anyone who is interested and able (must meet both criteria) to be a part of this. Ideally, I would like to see a situation where no one person has to put in more than about $25, although I am willing to put in more as I can, and between Main Streeter and myself, we already have enough for one of their airline tickets... at least, one way :)

So, what am I asking for to make this happen? Well, the obvious answer that I've already given is money, but more than that, I'm looking for people who just want to support the project, perhaps with sweat and other non-financial ways. Being (mostly) Cast Members, we don't work for the money... I mean, we need to make some money, but I understand we don't individually have a lot to give... but there are other ways to help make this happen. For instance, someone here might have a nice, comfortable car that we can use to transport them and their luggage (and anyone from DL that wants to tag along!), or perhaps someone would like to take shipments of boxes of bubbles so they don't have to lug them through the airports. Maybe you know someone that can make special things happen for them, and I am all about that. So, if you are interested in helping, this is the thread to make it known to myself and anyone else.

At this time, there's absolutely nothing set in stone, so maybe you have a time that would work well for you. From talking to Elena and Elyse, they can keep their schedule pretty open for this, but I'll firm up dates with them. Let me know here what your schedules and stuff would usually be at that time of year, and they'd just as much like to have this trip planned around you as much as them.

At this point, I haven't divulged any information that I don't want our Bubble Ladies to know, however beyond this post, we don't discuss anything said here where they might see it.

I'm getting excited about bringing the Bubble Ladies to Walt Disney World, and I hope we can make it happen.

Depending on flight days/times, I can probably do at least some airport transportation.

At the moment, I really can't contribute anything financially. I might be able to once the trip gets closer, but I don't think I can do much beforehand.

Since I am in Denver, I won't be able to help much with cars or such, but I can and will help out financially. Not a problem. :)

I'm in, too.. If I can go, why can't they???

What about getting a room at the resort for them with the Family and friends thingy or whatever it's called?? You know, the discount the cast members get for their family/friends to come and stay at the resort?? I know my room at Pop Century was way cheap per night per person, and there's 2 of us in the room..

I'll play on my computer when I get back to Guest Services on Friday and see if anyone there can hook me up with someone at WDW in the tour department for them, too..

Is there a shipping address to send bubbles?? I have a 99c store near me, and they do 4 bottles of bubbles for $1, so I can buy some bubbles and ship if someone can give me a shipping addy..

Wallaby-- I know you can sign them in, but if they will be there the same time I will, I'm willing to sign them in a couple days, too. Shucks, I thought I'd go thru all my sign ins this year, and I still have 8 left with less than a month and a half left in the year, with nobody that wants to come to the parks!!!

Thank you all for the great response so far. I also want to thank Main Streeter, she has PMed me (before I started this thread, actually) wanting to donate to the cause.

I'll crunch a few numbers in a bit to see what we need to make it happen.

And as far as plane tickets, I'll make sure they go round-trip... I've received a couple death threats from the DL folks regarding any chance of not returning them :p: .

I'm weak in the financial front right now, I may be able to help there closer to Feb, but can certainly help with maingates and things like shipping to my house, etc.

Don't we have something for lodging on the holiday discounts? Most of those discounts are good thru Feb and some are even later. I'm not planning a resort stay anytime soon so most of my holiday discounts are available.

We'll pull this off because of your pure determination & sheer organization efforts BW! :) You are so easy to work with, fun too! ;) C'mon everyone, this is a 2008 YOMD for 2 very wonderful Ladies we have all grown to love & look forward to seeing. I promise they will bring WDW tons of smiles, warm hearts, fantastic laughter, & of course those Magical Bubbles. :bubble: Susi, THANK YOU for offering a donation! Thanks also to Cran, pattimelt, hhsrat for your input & very special offers. No offer is too small nor unneeded. Plz remember, we need all to help in their own way. Thinking of giving.... hey darph, how abt contributing a month's worth of recycling revenue from your cans? :D: Heck, darph probably could fund our entire dream by Jan 2. ;) Big W, A HUGE THANKS TO YOU! YOU ROCK!! :king: :star: :mickey: :trophy:

Well, if they're going in Feb, then maybe, just maybe my husband and I can afford a trip then (we're hoping, at this point not sure what funds are going to be like in the next few months) Anyway, the point is, I'll be signing my husband in every day as is, so I could just add the bubble ladies to the sign in.

Ohh...maybe this is just the excuse I needed to come down again, myself. Unfortunately for me, February is mutual fund season up here, which means getting time off is virtually impossible until March 1. Ah well. Ideally I'd love to use it as an excuse to come down again myself, but...either way, I should be able to help out on the Bubble Lady front, somehow.

Any chance someone higher up can offer assistance for these two wonderful guests? I've already told my wife I want to skip Christmas presents for myself this year, maybe I can get her to agree to donate some funds to make this happen. I usually focus on kids, but they are kids at heart, and are part of making the magic as far as I'm concerned. Guests CAN BE and ARE part of the magic :)
