Stupid Guest Tricks

I just got back from WDW last Sunday and I wanted to post my thanks yous to all the lovely cast members who made my week there magic. I am sorry that I didn't get everybody's name who helped me.

JJ at the American Pavillion at Epcot who answered my stupid questions and when she didn't know the answer to one, apologized. I left... but she found me 10 minutes later with the answer! I was no where near where I was when I had first spoken with her. That was true customer service.

Tigger at Animal Kingdom. She/He treated me just like the other guests, depite me being a 45 year old woman. She/He bouncied, offered a hug, and let me take a picture with him/her holding my stuffed Tigger. I think this was one of the best 60 seconds of my visit there!

The Cast Member driving the jeep at Kilimanjaro Safaris. She had an entertaining spiel; I don't believe all of it was scripted. She found lots of animals for us to look at and she slooooooooowwwed down considerably for us to oooh and ahh and take pictures. There were no children on that tour and I think she realized that we were all there for the animals, not the pseudo poacher hunt.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party folks--- omg that parade rocked! Every cast member looked like they were having as much fun as the guests. The candy givers were joking, the folks at the food stands were smiling, and the ride operators were laughing. The refurbished Haunted Mansion had the best cast members (or should I say the "dearly departed" cast members? :P), but the rest weren't far behind. The Space Mountain lady didn't even laugh at me for not knowing where to put my feet and she didn't jeer at me when I asked for luck -- not having ridden Space Mountain since 1980. It was even more fun than I remembered.

I would love to go on a KSR with no kids or people who can't understand English and so just take the tour on their own despite the rest of us there. I envy you. At least, for the moment.

I will be trying my best to come back-- I'm a big fan.

As to the KSR, I'm not sure if everybody in my truck spoke English or not. I mean -- no matter what language you say "Oh!! Look!! a Giraffe, standing right there!!", it all comes out sounding the same. It's like there is a universal language of awe and wonderment. Of course, I was too busy saying "Look!! a Giraffe, standing right there!" to pay much attention to anyone else... :)

But that cast member sure did make it a very special ride. She was funny, informative and was dedicated to making sure we saw every animal possible. If you see her, pass on the compliments. She's a blonde lady, maybe 30 years old and her name could have been Joanne or Dianne... I couldn't really see her name badge.

It doesn't matter to me what language they are speaking, but when they see something, like a giraffe, standing ten feet from the truck, then they start shouting excitedly at each other and scare the giraffe off, that's when I have a problem. Until the animals decide to flee, I'm pretty much fine with any volume level.

Since Floridian decided to desert us for the competition, we'll have to find other ways to get word to the proper management. :D:
