Flaming squirrel ignites car in Bayonne

It's Rocky the Frying Squirrel!

A kamikaze squirrel fell from the sky and detonated a Bayonne woman's car yesterday, police said today. Lindsey Millar, 23, and her brother, Tony, 22, were both home Wednesday at about 12:45 p.m. when Lindsey's car suddenly started burning outside their 42nd Street home.

Tony Millar said firefighters told them it was the work of a buck-toothed saboteur that had been gnawing on overhead power lines connected to a transformer directly above the 2006 Toyota Camry. "The squirrel chewed through the wire, was set on fire, fell down directly to where the car was," Tony Millar said. "The squirrel, on fire, slid into the engine compartment and blew up the car. "They're always coming around here, chewing through the garbage," he added.

Tony Millar says his sister was fully insured. "It's something to laugh about once she has a new car," he said. "It's not funny yet." Police said there were no injuries -- except for the squirrel, that is, which is dead.

The Millars' home is decorated for Halloween, complete with a tiny plastic tombstone on their front lawn. Tony Millar said the family will consider dedicating the tombstone to the squirrel, who was not named.

Not funny for them naturally but hilarious for the rest of us! LOL!

Thank you, my friend. You can sorta see the corners of a smile so I would assume he's laughing. I doubt Mickey would have to eat the same crap as the regular CM, he's a celebrity. He probably only eats the finest in gourmet cheeses.

That's right, Tillamook Cheese from Tillamook, OR. None of that Wisconsin crap.

I have to admit, I do miss Tillamook Cheese.

I use Tillamock cheese and it is available if not I can ship you a case, lol.

I read the story and hope the terrorists do not get an idea to use kamikaze squirrels to destroy Los Angeles and Chicago.

Ah, the sheer pleasure of Tillamook... When I was a tweenager, my family took a *roadtrip* complete with trailer up the coastal highway 1, from the San Francisco Bay Area and made it all the way up to Tillamook! I distinctly remember Agate Beach! My mom, 85 yrs young, STILL has agates that we picked up from that beach some 40 yrs later. It was such a beautiful drive up the coastal highway. We then turned inland and came back down by way of eastern Oregon, who knew it was desert like out there? We went through the Shasta area where we *camped* overnight in our trailer and headed down the big highway home back to the Gray Area. My mom wanted Tillamook cheese and she got it, right there from Tillamook!! Wisconsin crap? My mom, being from Wisconsin, is torn. Wisconsin cheese is pretty awesome as well. I still look for Tillamook cheese in our stores or the marvelous Sonoma Jack! :p: Yum! You have brought back some great memories of Tillamook! :D:

(Everyone knows where THAT reference comes from, right?) She actually lived up the street from me, yes, she is a REAL person! All those bizarre 60's types moved to Sonoma County in the 70's where they promptly burned out and faded away!)

Oh Susi, the Sonoma Jack at the Cheese Factory on Spain Street in Sonoma is The BEST!! I sure do miss their fresh French bread & Jack. Those Cal days were more than academic education! ;)
