Fraternization Policies

Hi, all. I'm a recurring guest who looked up this site for the first time from her hotel room while staying at the WDW this month. I was so appalled by the tourists' behavior, and the CMs' tolerance, that I became fascinated and wanted to see if you guys had a forum.

And so you do.

I actually made a list of all the stupid tourist behaviors I saw and posted them to my own Live Journal, and it reads like a checklist summary of this site. You guys sure earn your money.

I don't want to be intrusive, but I am curious about something. Are there policies about Cast Members flirting with, asking out, or otherwise hooking up with Guests? (No, this didn't happen to me, and I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble--honest.) I'm just curious because I have never, ever, EVER seen it happen.

Never worked for Disney but I do know there are rules about giving and receiving flirts, sexual advances and hook ups with guests. I know the do not want CMs hitting on guests. Zazu is the expert and I learned from him a great tip. Take a phone number from someone and save it in your pocket. When someone asks for your number you pull out one of the slips and hand it to them, lol.

Only time I ever heard management mention anything about not trying to hit on the guests was when all the folks in their red shirts are in the parks...and that warning wasn't directed towards me lol. Besides you have to admit that our costumes don't really make the wearer look so hot, kinda kills any flirty mood. When the Brazilian tour groups were in the parks I used to get asked out by them every so often, caught me off guard at first but someone told me it was some cultural thing and that its normal for them to do that.

It is a cultural thing. They're all looking for a green card. I've been to Brazil a few times on business. When the women found out I was from the big PX it was, "Danger Will Robinson, danger danger!!" I even got a call from the hotel lobby one night that started with, "I theenk you are veerryy handsome." Buu bye.

Could have been worse, the housekeeper could have told you,"Me love you long time".

I got a few numbers, Myspace invites, etc. after some front cab rides.

It hasn't led to 5 kids and a marriage yet... so far so good

Remind me to take a stack of counterfeit visas. Some of the Brazilians are hot. Although, after seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I know that I could not handle the ethnic family thing.

I think there is no OFFICIAL rule, but management does frown upon it. You can always hook up after work, can't you? It's during work is the problem.

Geez, when would we have time? I mean, the whole thing of the hours we work (and the times), we're all married to our jobs  .

But in all seriousness, even if I wasn't married, I don't see how I could possibly be interested in a guest that way. I enjoy having them on my bus, and then I enjoy kicking them off.

Of course, as a bus driver, I guess I don't have to worry about getting hit on :o: .
