A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

heh some of those are pretty funny. My favorite one though is
the "StarDinerz Focus Group" and its "end result." It's not too far from
the truth.

Thanks so much for posting this link. I went there and surfed around a
bit, and came across an attraction at Universal Orlando that seems very
similar to one I pitched to Disney, some 5 years earlier!
:throw:
You can check out the differences here:

....................My idea..........
Their attraction

Particualarly similar are my "Whirlpool Tunnel" and their "Wave Vortex
Tunnel" (aside from the fact that they are both centered around
Poseidon, and both seem to be based on the idea that the guests have
wreaked his wrath).

I've never been to Universal Orlando - so I know next to nothing about
this ride. I'm judging it by what I read and saw on taylorjeffs.com and
Universal's web site...

I have heard there is a crossover of people between Disney
Imagineering and Universal's creative team... :?

Oh, and don't laugh too much at my old Portfolio web site. It was made
years ago and forgotten. My current web site is
here. (granted, it's not that much
better...)

Oh my god that stuff is great! LOL! I like how they intertwined KBF into
the mix too. And that sequel seems pretty good. Coming in 2003: His-
Panic Room!

I don't think I'd have trouble in that area, my trouble would lie in the
copyright area. IE: did Disney get the rights to the proposal when I
submitted them or did I retain partial or full rights.

We were told by people at WDI that Disney could not build any of our
proposed ideas because of something involving those rights, even though
they told us that all submitted proposals became their property...

So I haven't a clue. I just feel cheated.

My first proposal (Plane Crazy) got me into the top 10 finals of the first
contest they held in '90. Poseidon Chase was the 2nd one - it didn't get
me anywhere. The restaurant idea was forced upon me in their third and
final version of this contest, to see how well we do with someone else's
ideas. Like taking over someone else's project. It was a group effort,
and I ended up having damn little input.
