Stupid Guest Tricks

i am just wondering is working big thunder pretty stressful? what type of personality does it take to work big thunder or any of the rollercoaster mountains?

First of all, it isn't a new hire ride where they train new people on it. It's a cross - train attraction that requires a long amount of time at the Resort. You have to be fast with group, loading, and unloading the train, or else the if one takes too long, the ride will break down.

I agree with Indy. Thundercat works on BTMR and can give you a lengthy essay on working BTMR.

Working with the public can be very stressful and can cause people to shut down, flip or or quit but that is very few. It does not matter if it is at Burger King, Sears, a dentist or at an amusement park as people will be SGs where ever they go.

A roller coaster has a schedule and you must get that ride vehicle out by a certain time or you could 101 the ride. I was on the Bobsleds at DLR and there was a delay so they put my bobsled on a siding and then gave a us a reride. I rather sit on my butt and get a reride any day, lol.

Ride operators have to deal with people who cannot or will not quickly get into the ride vehicle. There are guests who want to take things on the ride that are not safe like service dogs, balloons, toys and crutches. A ride operator has to make sure everything is done just right or a guest could end up hurt or even dead. There are dangers and annoyances such as people coughing and sneezing germs at you, touchy feely guests, an open pit you could fall into like at bobsleds and BTMR, weather that can bake your brain or send you sliding on wet ground, and the usual SG stuff.

It looks fun to sit in the tower at the Matterhorn but I would never want to do that.

Are you saying I can't slap a "Assistance Dog in Training" thing on my dog and take her to Disneyland and have her ride with me? She'd LOVE BTMRR!

You could bring on a service pet on a ride, or a comfort pet, if you want. Just say you HAVE TO have your pet with you if it comforts you. One of my trainers told me that.

Not if it would endanger the other guests. You couldn't bring your comfort aligator on RnR...

If the animal cannot be restrained - it can't ride...the guest can then make the decision to ride without it. But another person with the guest must take care of the animal.

First of all, where would you find an alligator in CALIFORNIA!!! Well............maybe except for that ONE......what's his name........ :D

Second of all, yes, they have to be in restraints like any other guests.

Someone told me that a guest snuck in a chiulaua(sp?) on Tower Of Terror in her purse.

Years ago, we caught a woman over at the Matterhorn with her dog dressed in baby clothes, bonnet and all. She had the thing tucked into a stroller and was trying to bring the "baby" on the ride with her.

I saw some gal pushing a stroller around the north store where I work last year. She's talking and singing to the 'baby' the whole time. I happened to walk by a little while later,it was a friggin Dachshund. (que Twilight Zone music)
