Apparently one of the managers made the decision to cut most of the stocking shifts. Yes, during summer. I had to tell a bunch of pissed off guests that we had no cold sodas and no waters at all. All of Fantasyland was a mess today. What's worse is that we're supposed to keep our displays out even if we have no cold drinks. So someone will stand in line for five mins only to be told that there is coke but it's warm. God, I hate our department on days like today. Management is going to get an earful from me if this happens again. :x

The SeaWorld posse was at the resort on Friday! Considering how miserably hot it was, I can't imagine not having cold drinks! Get those stockers back!
On an unrelated note, this stupid woman and her kid were waiting in the single rider line at Splash. She had a fit when her and her kid couldn't go on together. Hello, duh! It's the SINGLE RIDER LINE. Poor Jorge had to listen to her rant. Had she gone on much longer, we were going to start yelling at her!

Well, I've talked to several stockers and I was under the impression that this was all because of CK. I don't think MK had much to do with it. I could be wrong.

Apparently we're going to have to wear shineable shoes now. Do the managers care that most shinable shoes aren't comfortable for walking and standing for long periods of time? No. Do they care that most shinable shoes aren't safe for walking and pushing carts in the rain? No. Do they care that most cast members will have to pay 30 or so bucks for a new pair of shoes to replace their other shoes just for work? No.
My shoes are shineable. They should be fine. But if they ask me to go home and shine them every night I'm going to laugh in their face. I show up to work in a clean costume with my nametag on. I refuse to make any more preparations for a job that pays me under ten dollars an hour.

Sometime in the '90s they kind of relaxed their policy on shoes. Not officially, but they just didn't enforce it as tightly as they used to. As long as the shoes were solid black. For my last few years I was wearing black tennis shoes, like most everyone else. What sucks is that I bought two new pairs of black shoes a few months before I ended up quitting.
...thought I'd save some money...
When you work there long enough, you'll see the cycles these things come and go in. They'll relax on some standards, then get anal about others. It's usually around this time (end of summer) that they start getting anal about the little things again. Probably because it's too hard to keep up during the summer with all the extra CMs.

I buy my shoes at a police supply store. They run quite a bit more than $30/pair, but they have great cushioning, non-slip soles, and last me over a year of full-time use.
No, you don't need police ID to buy in such shops -- just money.
