I actually had a Non SG last night

Last night, I was driving an RTS and it was about 8pm. Not really a high traffic time but getting busier. I was assigned AS Movies. Now it seems that there was a bus issue there and the SG's claim that they had not seen a bus for 45 minutes. OK, could have happened, so do you take it out on the driver that DOES come to get you?

Now there were 2 guests in WC's. I pull up and explain to the hostile crowd that they needed to wait while I load the guests in the WC's. I load the first one, no problems, she was just great, even helped while I was trying to put on her lapbelt.

Next one, the lift malfunctions. Great! Guest is halfway up. I explain to the guest what I'm going to do to get the lift working again, All I get is complaints. "Why could'nt you bring a better bus, Don't you know what you are doing?" etc. So, I finally get it to move again and load the guest. I get his chair strapped in while hearing that I better not damage his chair (It was a resort rental by the way) I go to put his lapbelt on and he freaks out. NO, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PUT THAT THING ON ME!!!!!!

I try to calmly explain to him it's for his safety (as well as mine), He out and out refuses. All this time the already impatient mob is getting worse. I'm about to go up front and call in a Signal 74 (no lap belt) when the first WC guest turns around and says " Stop being a baby and put on the seatbelt. All he is trying to do is look out for your wellbeing." Then she says to me "Don't you get tired of trying to help stupid people" Well, I could of hugged her and the SG turned bright red and said to me "Would you help me put my seatbelt on?"

Now I let the unruly mob on board. I get this one SG wanting to know why he needed to wait so long , first he had to wait for the bus and then he had to wait until I loaded the "cripples", He's going on and on about this and my HC guest speaks up. "I'll gladly wait outside standing while you can be stuck in this chair, I'll gladly switch with you (and then she raises her voice to everyone) and enyone else who feels that I have unjustly inconvenienced you or your families"

You could have heard a pin drop after that. Nobody said a word. They all just go on with no compaints. Mr I 'm complaining about everything just dropped his head and headed to the back of the bus. Did I already tell you I could have hugged her!

I wish I could have done more for her, All I did was treat her with respect and kindness which is what I try to treat everyone with (until they prove that they are SG's) She even asked if she needed to speak to a manager to tell what really happened.

Although I did not get her name, I am publicly thanking you for not being a SG.

That is a touching story, I give you a cyber hug and thank you. It is nice to hear about the unsung heros who help out others when things get bad. That was so nice of her.

An angel on Earth visited you that day. May she win a great big YOAMD Prize! You should win something too for working under that kind of stress!

Finally, some guests are realizing that they are not the only ones in the world. I hope that everyone on that bus learned a lesson that day. More importantly, they use the knowledge in future events. Congrats to you and your special helper!! :)

Give me a description. I have one of those special Tinkerbell pins, of which they need to be recipient.

I hope I get this guest on my bus.

Sorry he needed to turn a moment on the bus so dark for everyone else, but I, too, hope they learned a lesson.

Wallaby,

I wish you were around at closing time last night. I could have used the Tink pin. I had a dad and his little girl who were the last ones out of the park. Not because they wanted to be, but because some a$$ stole her backpack from the stroller and broke the stroller at the same time. Now there was nothing of value (to us) in the backpack however there were the ride photo's of dad and the princess and her autograph book. This was susposed to be their night out together and it was badly tarnished. I took them back to Music and tried to comfort them (they are from PA and she was a cute redhead of about 4). About all I could do was drive them and I did have some transportation trading cards (boats, not buses) that I had picked up off the ground a couple of nights ago. I gave her the cards (I knew that there had to be a good reason that I "found" them and had not given them away). Her face just lit up and as I was trying to apologize for their misfortune, dad said "It's the little things like that that just made her night"

They were some more non SG's, Disapointed in some people, but still looking at the positive and not letting this ruin their vacation.

My hero in the WC was a woman about 40, dark hair and of a slender build, and you could tell that she was in her own chair.
