I mean how important is this, really?

There's a friend of mine that works at the hotel next door to me. His partner works at Disneyland so of course he's always full of knowledge. Anyway, he was telling me about the Nemo ride opening on June 11th. I said oh that's cool, 'cause I do want to go and check it out. Then he tells me that they are going to leave their house at 4am to stand in line for the early admission at 7am so they can be one of the first people in line to rush to the ride to get on it.

Okay, I'm sorry. Maybe I don't get it. But I know if Jack and I go, say Sept. or Oct., I will be able to ride it eventually. Is it such a big deal to ride something so what, you can brag to your friends who will probably ride it soon enough? Or what? It's Disney, kids. Most stuff there lasts a while. We won't go into the crap that should have disappeared a long time ago. :cough: DCA :cough:

Is it important to anyone else to be "that guy/girl"?

Some people, yes.

My wife and I were at Disneyland last year when pirates re-opened, we didn't plan it that way, it just happened that way. I was not one of the idiots on opening day standing in a line on main street though, I walked by and said to my wife that the line will get better later during our stay. It did and we got to ride a few times with (at the time) minimal wait :)

Of course the sub re-opening is a pretty big deal IMO :)

For the 4:00am crowd, and ohh yes there will be a crowd....

I think it's as much about about the camaraderie and the shared experience as the attraction. The line becomes an event in and of itself.

Aahhhhhhh.............how I miss cast previews!!! Those are the best when Space, Monsters, Tower opened!!!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go on Pirates, I always seem to miss the previews. I did go on it re-opening day waiting in the 40 minute line.

I imagine there will be at least a 4 hour wait difference between the 11th and the 12th. That first day is going to be insane.

With Pirates last year, the first day had a huge wait down Main Street, and then right after that it went back to regular times.

Yes but pirates has decades of loading/offloading experience plus an hourly guest capacity over three times that expected of Nemo. Note the word "expected" in the previous sentence. If guests don't act as predicted or if any of the subs go 101 then the already low hourly capacity will plummet.

I think you can expect extreme lines for Nemo for a lot longer than a day or two.

^ Well of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if that first day is like... 10 hours, compared to 4-5 for the next week.

I got to do the cast preview of the bug area of DCA and that was fun except for sliding on the dodge em ride. That floor was like walking on spilled eggs mixed with oil.

The old submarine ride was a slow loader so expect the same. This ride cannot get better than the old days as far as loading and unloading guests. You had two openings and people had to climb tight stairs to get out. Imagine now these same people carrying cell phones, purses, backpacks, baby stuff, luggage, etc. It was bad when we took one baby bag, one purse and the camera bag which covered everything for a family of two adults and 10 kids.

I think we should get a pool going on how long the line will get and I am putting money on 225 minutes. Participants cannot be CM if they want into the pool. "We have to slow down so I can make the betting pool", lol.
