It appears that Disney will once again re-invent a classic. Production is set to soon begin on "The Sorcerer", a live action take on "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" from the 1940 Disney Classic, "Fantasia". Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal are writing the screenplay for the movie, set in contemporary New York.
Nicolas Cage is currently attached to the project and will play the powerful sorcerer, who is need of an apprentice.

Cage stars in "Ghost Rider", due out this week. He will also be starring in Paramount's "Next" a thriller being released this spring.

I'm sorry, but WTF?!?!

Cage seems to be on a superhero/wizard spree as of late, considering he's the producer of SciFi's The Dresden Files. but seriously, live action based on Fantasia? this is some serious :bsflag: Disney! Stop lacing the swamp grow :dope: with pixie dust! :notink:

Cage is notorious for being a die-hard comic book fan/collector.

Seriously though, I'd rather see this than all of this BS the company has with HSM. . .

High School Music: The College Years

And apparently a full length THEATER release for this SOB.

Not to mention that SOB we have in front of the hat at the Studios now. The only good Prep Rally is one on fire!!!!

Still, Nick Cage must be in good with Disney right now if he has that movie going as well as National Treasure 2 (I can't wait) with a possible third movie . . .

Hell, put him in LMA the Movie, I'd choose him over that baby sitter Vin Desel, remember when he was actually a someone decent actor?
