Communications Breakdown

Does anyone here know what's up with Disneyland Paris?

I can't book a stay thru their US web site because it's been offline for two weeks.
I can't book a stay thru their UK web site because it requrires a valid post code (and zip codes aren't good enough.
I can't book a stay thru WDW CRO because they only get rooms a month out and never get cast discounts.
I can't book a stay thru the DLP telephone reservations line because they don't have cast discounts, referring me to a special cast number.
I can't book a stay thru the DLP "special cast number" because they leave me on hold for 15 minutes at a time and the phone charges are eating up whatever discount I might get.
And I can't book a room-only reservation, as even the cast packages include tickets, which CM's don't need!

It's like they simply don't *want* US cast members to visit their resort!

I'm about ready to tell 'em all to go fly a kite (and not the Mary Poppins kind) and fly straight home from Barcelona after the Med. Cruise instead of visiting.

Does anyone know *how* to book a cast-rate room (only) there?

Did you tell the "special cast number" person that you are calling from overseas? I would think if they knew that, they wouldn't keep you holding so long

Hard to do when I never speak to a human.

Our cast advocate found me a form with instructions to fax it to DLP's CRO for my room-only booking at discount. Hurray!

Of course, when I tried to fax it in, that number is actually just another voicemail system with no humans. Ahshit!

We've about given up. Instead of three nights at cast rate we're going to spend on night at guest rate (including two days of tickets) and bitch like hell when we get there.

I pity the poor MOD when we get in....

You're kidding, right? The French will give you a line like, "What's the problem, you got a room didn't you?"

My first wife was French and even she got crap from her own countrymen. It was fun to watch one little frog's eyes pop out when I reached over the counter and reeled him in with his tie. My crazed eyes may have helped.

Wow, your experience is really nothing like the impression I got from dealing with the booking department when using the CM discount!

Did you call during the European day or night? Because the people manning the phones during the europena nighttime hours are not at *all* as experienced or easy to deal with as the daytime CMs. I know - it shouldnt make any difference service-wise but sadly, it does.

Wow - an american CM visiting DLP - I've never ever seen that! We used to get a lot of japanese Cms coming over (they are a LOT of fun, btw!) but hardly EVER anyone from the US.
