We will be spending our first Disney Christmas. We go all other times of the year, we were just there for Halloween. What is the park like on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, etc. We have ressies for all our meals already, staying concierge at the Disneyland Hotel and we ordered the tree, I know SUCKER!!!!!! We just did not want to fight with family this year so we are going to the Resort. Will it be so crowded at DL that they will stop letting people in? I won't mind going to DCA for a time, but want to catch at least SOME of the magic of Christmas in the Magic Kingdom where it means the most. We can watch the fireworks from our top floor window at the hotel, BUT I would not mind seeing the real show in front of the castle. I know the fireworkd show is more than just "the rockets red glare" ABOVE the castle. And even though we have snow here in Denver, (expecting some tomorrow and mid next week), I would love the romance of seeing the snow on Main Street. Call me a incurable Disney romantic! I LOVE, LOVE Disney!!!!!! I just don't like being rammed by strollers or having some idiot in front of me stick his kid on his shoulders for the show. We have tickets for the Christmas tour so we do get reserved seating for a showing of the parade as well as priorty entree to iaswh and HMH. YEY!!!!!! What about the crowds??? Will it be a nightmare before Christmas?

Yes, it will be crowded, very, very, very crowded, more crowded than you can imagine and yes they may close the gates at some point. With that being said, if you go there knowing it will be crowded you can still have a good time. Priority seating for the parade will be a big help, but plan on arriving there earlier and give yourself plenty of time intransit. If it normally takes 5 min to get from point A to the seating and you leave 10 min before the parade starts, you may not make it there, although I think with the tour they take you straight there, or at least they used to. Know it will be crowded, my advice get there right when the park opens, stay until you're getting wiped out or the crowds get to you, go back to the hotel, nap or just relax and be out of the crowds, then head back later and stay until park closing. Since you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel on Friday, Saturday and Monday you can actually get into Disneyland for early entry to select Fantasyland and Tomorrowland attractions, I highly advise this one or two of the days that you'll be there for it (depending on when you're arriving you might only be there for the Saturday and Monday ones) especially if you don't have kids and don't like being attacked by strollers.

Just keep in mind it WILL be crowded. Many of the people there will not expect it to be crowded and will get angry easily and be very tense, including the CMs (Many of them are so new they don't know what to expect) Try not to lose your own temper, follow the instructions of the CMs (there's a reason for it and especially for Guest Control they may not have the time or the inclination to explain it) and have fun, go with the flow. Also if you want to give a great Christmas gifts to the CMs you see, smile a lot, thank them for all they do and if you get a few exceptional ones stop by City Hall at the end of the day and give them a compliment.

Thanks so much for the great advice. I figured it would be crowded, we can handle that since it is crowed so much of the time. We just could not resist the pull of Christmas in DL this year. Staying at DLH helps, it is so close to go back and rest up for more insanity! Thanks again.
